some of my patients tell me that they can taste ferrlecit that we give during dialysis and apparently it tastes pretty bad! i usually give lifesavers to those patients that complain and that seems to help.

hi! is your grandma receiving dialysis treatments via her fistula? if so they can certainly be drawing her labs pre-treatment. and if she does have a fistula or a graft in place no one should be using that arm for anything other than dialysis.

love love love the phoenix machines! i have total trust in them, you can't take any shortcuts w/them. but they are the only machines i've ever worked on except a very brief time w/cobe machines. so my opinion may be a little one-sided! good luck!

If your pt. is a dialysis pt with a fistula you "feel the thrill" which is a buzzing sensation, the bruit is a whooshing sound that you can hear with a stethoscope. Hope this helps!
OMG!!!!! where is your manager? he/she should be dealing w/this behavior NOW... keep in mind that yes, staff and pt's do become close and yes, they do form relationships that might be a little more "casual and laid back" than your typical nurse/pt.r...

thanks so much for posting the above site. i had trouble finding alot of info on crit lines but this site is great.now i've got some info to take to our manager!
i also agree that this is kind of a strange question to ask, considering the type of medication that this is.any drug book would be able to answer your questions.
