What area do you live in? I went to a hospital school of nursing, and I had no hospital experience before I started. I think RN is the way to go. Where I work, there are not many jobs for LPNs. I work in labor and delivery, and we don't have any LPNs...
I have been reading everyone's posts and feel that I must comment. Keep your cell phone in your locker or car. Not only students are checking for messages and answering texts. Some nurses do it too. It drives me crazy. In the case of an emergency, so...

You do need experience. I am in an RN to BSN program now. From Frontier's web site - Have one year of nursing experience. The Admissions Committee may consider other significant experience in health care. Richelle

I'm not sure how many they take, they did tell me that I had to wait so long after my interview because they were doing the Feb. and March applications first. I know the deadline is April 28th, so I'm sure you still have time.

You can apply before you have your BSN. I had planned on waiting until September, but I talked to Jeanette Woods, and she told me I could apply for the June class. On my application, I wrote that I had 2 more classes, and 2 weeks ago they asked me to...
Using a cell phone in clinical or having it ring during class was a big no no where I went to nursing school. One student had hers on vibrate in her purse and you could hear it during a test. She really got into trouble. There were signs everywhere t...
On Friday, while doing clinical for a Case Management class, we encountered an orthopedic surgeon who was so arrogant that I wanted to slap him. A patient had lost her insurance, so we needed his signature to get her the Lovenox for indigent people. ...
It's all about professionalism. The doctors weren't acting professionally, but neither was she. As an employee of the hospital, she could speak with her manager. But she is a student. She should bring it up in post clinical and ask what everyone else...
We do it in the room if they need a demo, in the nursery if they don't. Some don't want the baby to keave the room, then we do it there. It's just quicker and easier to do it in the nursery. With admissions, you may be doing three baths a day. We hav...
Our hospital delivers 10,000 a year. We often have 7 couplets. We bath the baby in the room for a prime, in the nursery if a multip, after 2 good temps 2 hours apart. If blood sugars are needed, we wait until those are done before bathing.
