If I saw your post in May, I would discourage you from moving from CA to MA. For the reason that you stated above "the cost of living in Boston is equal to the bay area, yet nurses are paid about half what they are paid in the Bay area."
This is not true. As long as one maintains valid student status by complying with requirements for F-1 and does not use EAD/AP he/she should be OK. Could you name some of those schools? Filing for AOS is not a valid reason for termination of studen...

Schedule "A" did not start in June 2005. They just changed the law in 2005 and made 50,000 visas available exclusively for schedule "A" professionals. http://www.ilw.com/immigdaily/news/2005,0718-crs.pdfCan you give me any reference about "nursing ...

OK guys, read the data please. 36,367 visas were isued in FY2005-2006 for schedule "A" applicants including spouses and children. That's for AOS and CP together and that's according to the DHS. Do you want to say they issued 14,000 visas in Octo...

There should be no deadline for schedule "A" if visas are available. They set a deadline based on the prediction that schedule "A" 50,000 limit would be exhausted by Nov. 2006. Schedule "A" quota has nothing to do with annual limits for EB category.

"At a recent AILA Conference, Michael Ayetes (USCIS Associate Director, Operations) announced...." That information is not official. It's not posted anywhere on the official web site. Dependents file their own I-485. So I don't see why you decided th...

Suzanne, did you read my post? Any comments about were 14,363 Schedule "A" visas have gone? Schedule "A" visas can be used for schedule "A" professionals only and has nothing to do with 800,000 (I doubt it's a correct number) programmers, enginee...

You are right! So for FY2006 (Oct 1st, 2005 - Sep 30, 2006) a total of 30,512 Schedule "A" visas were used. Now Schedule "A" was current from June 1, 2005 till October 31, 2006 According to DHS statistics 5,125 schedule "A" visas were ...

As I mentioned above in FY2006 7,742 applicants and their family members applied for AOS, while the majority 30,952 applied from overseas. 2-3K is my prediction based on the above figures.

For some reason e-filed i-140's go to TSC. The recent update shows that they process them within 6 month. I had my fingerprints on Oct. 2nd. The waiting room was empty.

Let's see how many nurses applied for Adjustment of Status under July 2007 Visa Bulletin. My info: I-140 filed on 07/30/07 via E-filing. Pending at TSC. I-485 filed on 07/31/07. Pending at NSC.

Boston sucks 25.00 per hour is nothing, considering cost of living in Boston. And nurse to patient ratio is usually 1:6. Yes, it's hard to find a first job for a new grad in Boston.

I guaranty that out of 320,000 new petitions at least 200,000 were filed by people from India. So, they are the ones who will be affected by the retrogression, as well as people from China. Do you really believe that there were 40,000 foreign-born, ...
