only 1 week of orientation in a nursing home is not acceptable to me. where i am from its usually 6-8wks and you can ask for more if you feel like you need it, this is for a hospital. it should be no different in a nursing home...i think that's kind...
  6. When did it become ok to put someone down because they are NOT an RN?

that was bullsh**. i can't believe someone in your family said that...what an oxymoron! they should be proud that you graduated with honors and passed the NCLEX that's quite an achievement. i agree that you should have had your moment of glory. if i...

  11. pls....i need help with job interview.

my best advice for you is to learn how to be a pardon me..bullshiter. haha, but seriously...make sure you are dressed professionally like in a business suit. my experience has been they always ask you why nursing and why this institution or hospital...
  12. Daft things you've done after night shift

  13. How long til you received your ATT?

I got mine in two weeks. I made sure I signed up and such before graduation but it sounds like you are on top of that! I don't think it will be long for you but I'm sure it varies from state to state. Good luck and wish me too!

  15. How would you have dealt with this situation...

I have to say that previously, I was kind of ripping on CNA's earlier and would like to apologize for that. I had a few bad experiences with some of my fellow CNAs and experienced nurses while I was a nurse extern and performing the same CNA duties ...
  16. where are people doing their prerequisites in chicago?

hi! i went to loyola university for my undegrad degree, i know that they offer A&P over the summer because i know a close friend who had to because she transfered into our program a year late and had to catch up. however, i received my BSN from t...
  17. clinicals???

i would describe clinicals as your hands on experience of what you learn in class. its days set aside by your university or college so that you spend real time in a hospital practicing with staff and your colleagues. I really enjoyed clinicals during...
  18. Nursing Student in Trouble...

i really hope they throw the books at him...seems kinda psychotic to me after experiencing a rape kit in the ER because i had to witness with a male physician...i hope he burns in hell...no woman should have to go through that
  19. How would you have dealt with this situation...

im sure you heard by now...don't leave the pills on the table with the client alond, im sure you have learned from that by now. anyways...as a nursing student i worked as a cna over the summer in between semesters. the cna's and the older nurses bot...
  20. Here it goes...

good for you! in high school i enjoyed drama and choir and had a decent singing voice...more opera type than american idol lol...anyways, everyone asked me why i didn't do acting or music as a major and i was proud to tell them i was a nursing major....

  24. Waiting on NCLEX results? Read here first!

PS. I hope it isn't 95% that scares me, do newly graduated nursing students know or remember 95% of what they learned in nursing school? Even with a review class that seems impossible. If that is the truth, then I better start studying harder!
  25. Waiting on NCLEX results? Read here first!

Hey that sounds good to me! Only 50% to pass, that makes me feel less nervous, seeing as how with my review class I have been averaging in the 50%-60% percentile based on the credentials of the class. However, I agree with you when you ask what does ...
