  1. I'm someone with a BA in accounting and an MBA degree who wants to go back to school for nursing. I applied for an accelerated 2nd degree BSN program in my area for May 2009 and plan on taking my pre-requisite courses before May 2009. I currently wor...
  2. Bellarmine

Why are you complaining about Bellarmine's requirment of getting at 77% to pass each course? And of their program is aimed at non-nursing majors...it's an accelerated SECOND DEGREE BSN program. And no, they do not think your previous degree of job g...
  3. Last year, I graduated from Bellarmine University with a BA in accounting and an MBA degree. To make a long story short, I absolutely HATE accounting and the cubicle-desk jobs, and I would like to become a nurse. I want to make a difference in others...
  4. i think you misread what i said in my original post... i'm having a hard time finding an accounting position!!! because of this, i'm worried about finding a nursing position if i decided to pursue nursing. but just recently, i have started to develop...
  5. Would Jesus be employable

Yes, he would be employable...plus, He has the power to heal and to save. :)
  6. any info on Jewish Hospital?

My sister, who is a CNA at UofL Hospital said that Jewish pays more than most hospitals. She also said they pay more for education and they have more incentives (sign on bonuses and such).
  7. Why my patient quit nursing...

Isn't documentation very important? As a nurse, you are dealing with people's lives. Documentation will definitely help you more than it will harm you.
  8. Why my patient quit nursing...

This question is to anyone: Can someone please explain to me how the government and regulators are making it harder and harder for nurses to actually take care of the patients??? (I'm not a nurse yet, but I'm considering nursing as a career).
  9. As a newbie, I have noticed in several threads that many of you have expressed feeling burnt out from working as a nurse. I would like to know the answers to the following 10 questions from those of you who feel burnt out: 1. In which area of nursing...
  10. What Makes You Feel Burnt Out??? (10 Questions)

If you would read my entire original post, you will see that I said the following sentence before asking questions: "I would like to know the answers to the following 10 questions from those of you who feel burnt out". So I didn't assume anything nor...
  11. Male RN gets to pay more?

Here are a few articles regarding the subject of women getting paid less than men doing the same jobs: WOMEN PAID 68 CENTS FOR EVERY DOLLAR WHITE MEN GET: http://www.iwpr.org/States2004/PDFs/IWPRFinalPressrelease4-20-04.pdf The Wage Gap: http://www.b...
  12. "The Jesus Factor"

Yes, there are a lot of Christians who do not know the history behind the Bible. I've studied the history behind the Bible, the canonization, how it was edited and how the words/message have been lost in translation. Look at all the different transla...
  13. "The Jesus Factor"

well, this part of your post that i quoted is not my belief! i'm not what you would consider an evangelical christian. it is impossible to convert every non-christian to the christian faith. god has chosen who he wants to be christian and non-christi...
  14. Need advice... may relocate to KY

My sister used to live in Lexington. She lived in an apartment off of Redding Road which is off of Nicholasville Road and is near New Circle Road. She used to attend University of Kentucky and she used to work at UK Hospital. A couple of months ago,...
  15. what do you all think about 12 hour shifts?

As jjjoy said: She wasn't saying that nurses sit around for 8hrs on shifts. She was saying that she'd prefer being busy for 12 hours straight 3 days/week (in nursing) than sitting being bored for 8 hours a day M-F (in a non-nursing job).
  16. "The Jesus Factor"

HUH??? Not trying to be rude or anything, but I am literally confused at what you're trying to ask me. I guess I will just have to lay out the exchanges of replies going back and forth: Emmanuel Goldstein: "not every Christian agrees on what is a si...
  17. "The Jesus Factor"

Ummmm, I'm not sure what you're talking about? I was saying "Yep, looks like the same definition to me" in regards to the definition of sin among different types of Christians... not the definition of Christianity. I see why you were confused. Go ba...
  18. New Here, The Good/ Bad /Ugly

Maybe ER and Corrections wasn't for you. Have you looked into other options in nursing???
  19. "The Jesus Factor"

Yep, looks like the same definition to me, but jlsRN clarified with me that she was talking about how Christians differ in what they consider a sin. (For example, some Christians think it's okay to have abortion and some Christians think it's wrong).
  20. "The Jesus Factor"

Oh, now I see what you're saying. I knew that...I don't want to get into those issues here in this thread.
  21. HIV testing

bth44, I hope your results are negative! (I'm pretty sure they are). :)
  22. "The Jesus Factor"

Really? Interesting. What do some Christians think a sin is?To me, a sin is simply a wrongdoing or anything against God.
  23. what do you all think about 12 hour shifts?

Okkaaayyyy...what is that suppose to mean??? There's one thing that I've noticed about this board as a newbie...a lot of people are very discouraging about the field of nursing. For me, working 3 days a week as opposed to 5 days a week will most ...
  24. "The Jesus Factor"

Exactly. That's why I mentioned the lack of unity among Christians. And no one can determine who is or isn't a true Christian, we cannot be the judge. Only God knows. When I said "so called Christians" I was referring to hypocrites. No one can ...
  25. "The Jesus Factor"

I realize that. I wasn't saying that Christians are the only group that has division. I know nurses aren't hired based on religious beliefs. But you have to realize that everyone has beliefs and just because you are hired as a nurse based on educat...
