I must be the odd one. I breezed through micro and chem, but toiled through the first semester of a&p. I did find the second semester to be easier tho.

No, you don't have to have all of your pre-reqs completed before applying. But they do advise you to have all courses completed before starting the actual nursing program so that you can concentrate strictly on the nursing classes. As far as gpa goe...

I was never a great math student, but I loved my statistics class! Just think of the problems as puzzles that you need to figure out.

That is what I am afraid of - failing out of GPC's program - especially since I still have to work to support myself. I have a much better chance of making it through an LPN program and then bridging to an RN.

I moved recently and just got my acceptance letter today. I am torn about whether or not to accept. It is either this or the "go to LPN school and then bridge to RN" route, but I have heard so many bad things about GPC that it scares me. What to do...

I am in the same boat (I have a Bachelor's degree). I plan on applying for private loans which will have a higher interest rate than federally funded loans, but if that is the price I have to pay then so be it.

I really don't know since I haven't checked into it. I suggest talking directly to the financial aid office. Be sure to let us know what you find out.

You will be eligible for student loans for grad school. That is a totally different scenario.

I have found that most schools require science pre-reqs (or at least A&P) to have been within the past 5-7 years.

Congratulations to any and all GPC grads - you do seem to be few and far between! I no longer think I can do that to myself. :selfbonk:

That does it. I am not going to GPC even if I receive an acceptance letter. I will take the LPN route and then bridge to RN. Not that that will be a piece of cake either, but at least I won't be set up to fail.

I was told that they choose the top candidates and don't even look at which campus you supposedly applied for.

I am also waiting on a letter, but I have serious reservations about GPC. I am not sure I will go there even if I am accepted.
