About Althea McLeish

Althea McLeish has 38 years experience as a MSN, RN and specializes in Nurse Writer, Nurse Leader, ER, Peds, HH & Hospice.

Life happens and change is inevitable. To get more out of life and live the life we dream of, we need to constantly strive to become more!

I am on a mission to find ways to do things better and inspire others to do the same. My focus is on health & wellness, all things nursing, mental mindset training and becoming money savvy.

ABOUT ME 

I am a Registered Nurse (RN) since 1986 - trained in Jamaica and recruited To Brooklyn, NY in 1990.

I have been a blogger since 2012, and recently launched my Freelance Nurse Writing career.

I currently holds a master's degree in nursing (MSN), and I'm a soon-to-be Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).

I am a board-certified nurse executive, and in the past, held a legal nurse consulting certificate and a Ramsey Solutions financial coaching certificate.

I have extensive experience in health and wellness and is a lifelong learner of leadership techniques, positive mental attitude and financial fitness skills.

I am passionate about writing, coaching, teaching, training, mentoring, and encouraging others to be their best.

My mission is to educate, empower & encourage, and on a daily basis, touch lives and make a difference.

I am a member of a medical mission team serving underprivileged children and adults in South America. I have had the privilege of serving in the Dominican Republic, Paraguay, and Ecuador.

    I am doing a generalized DNP with Aspen University and I think it's a good base. From my understanding, all DNP programs must incorporate the 8 DNP essentials to be an accredited program. You can always specialize later.
