  6. Filling IV tubing drip chamber for flight tips?

Burp the bag! Doing so removes all the air from the bag. Could be a little time consuming so maybe not the best method for interfacility flights where you have a ton of gtts but otherwise a good method for preventing air embolus if you're bolusing by...
  7. Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) CRNA 2023

One of the SRNAs said that he traveled during the first two semesters and highly recommended it. I assume it was full time but I'm not 100%. He said that it's more or less busy work at first. I believe he's a third year so things may have changed a b...

Hey guys! I've spoken with some current students about working during the Spring and Summer and they say it's very manageable as the first two semesters are comparatively light in regards to workload and mostly online. That being said, what do you al...

  10. Working Under a MD or DO as a NP

I don't know any NP's who spend 3-4 hours with a single patient but that's not to say that job doesn't exist. NPs routinely diagnose and prescribe medications (sometimes completely independently). It may be beneficial for you to resea...
  11. Finding A Job After An Accelerated BSN Program

I agree, you shouldn't have a problem at all. I have worked with some new nurses with accelerated BSNs and it never even came up during their interviews.
  12. RN residency- 5 weeks in and already mentally sick

She had no right to ask for pictures of your injury or to dispute the opinion of a physician regarding his/her recommendation of light duty. If you're still working there and your supervisor is continuing to make you uncomfortable, I would speak with...
  13. New Nurse Feeling a Failure

First off, I'm sorry you're feeling so bad. I wish I had a dollar for every time I felt overwhelmed during my career, especially early on. Just know that it really does get better. Mistakes happen in healthcare. A lot of ppl don't like to talk about ...
  14. ICU Experience for CRNA School

As another commenter said, I think it really depends on the program. For most applicants, having specialized ICU experience will probably bode well for them, especially if they they are able to demonstrate that they are somewhat well-rounded as well....
  15. TCU CRNA Spring 2023 Start

I like that they give us such a big window to complete it. Somehow the idea of only having four questions stresses me out more haha but at least I have some time to get my nerves in check 😅. Good luck everybody!
