Do you ever get disappointed when certain nurses call in?

Of course. Just like you’d much rather do an activity with your bestie than do it with your enemy (LOL). But luckily I don’t have that issue because I’m home health…it’s just me and the patient in a residential setting.

    Peri-care without gloves?

I have a love hate relationship with gloves. One, with them on there is more chance of cross contamination and without them on you’re typically more diligent about washing them. Hot water and antibacterial soap is good and do it every stage or so and...

    Writing “poop” is unprofessional?

This is odd. I mean everyone knows bowel movements are “poop.” I think it’s a bit excessive for them to write you up, but now you know in the future.

    men in printed scrubs

I don’t mind men wearing printed tops on a pediatric floor/office...as long as they are appropriate. However, if they work on an adult floor, I would think it would be tacky. Most of the time, I see male workers dressed in solid color tops.

I think cutsey scrub tops look ridiculous on adult units

I work with adults and I wear printed tops...however I would not wear teddy bears or anything that looks too “cutesy.” I wear things like Pepe le pew, floral, Betty Boop, Kermit the frog, dear God, chipmunks, and tinker bell prints. I’ve yet to have ...

Are your choice of scrubs childish?

Personally, I don’t think so. I work in home health care, so I don’t work with pediatrics and I wear printed tops. My patients are middle-aged, but I have yet to have a patient not enjoy my printed scrub tops! I wear Snoopy & Woodstock scrubs (my...
