Moving to Nevada, Tea Please
Currently living in NJ as a stepdown/tele/medsurg RN. Starting to get the ball in motion to pick up and go to Las Vegas/Henderson. Trying to research hospitals and jobs there. Curious if anyone has any input on what hospitals are better to work at, are there unions, where should I look, typical patient ratios, PAY or anything that stands out. My plan is to move end of next year just have to get some ducks in a row including applying for nevada license. Going out there in April to drive through some different neighborhoods, like Silverado Ranch, Green Valley and Inspirada

Any NJCU grads or current students?
Graduated NJCU few years ago; albeit, it was from their satellite campus in central jersey (no longer there now), so I can't speak to safety of the main campus, but the staff and program was the same at both locations. Overall, no regrets was 12mo program so everything moved quick. Most of the staff was great, with a handful of absolute standouts. I know Dr. Wright and Dr. Branchzio are still staff there, both wonderful humans. It was very apparent the staff did not want to see people fail. The few students that did were invited to continue in the next cohort and pick up where they left off. At times there was some disorganization, but they were very accomodating. They would even let us negotiate moving a test to make more study time for another test from a different class. Not sure how much of the adjunct staff is the same though since NJCU had that big shake up with all the debt they accumulated. Program was very manageable considering some of the horror stories I have heard with other programs.

TESU ABSN Spring 2022 Cohort
Think the best advice I can give is be authentic and sincere. They asked me why nursing and why TESU, they also asked things specific to my resume, what was a class I didn't like and one I did as well as how to deal? Questions about your support system. Alot of the interview really turned into a back and forth natural conversation about the topic they asked.

If you mean the BSNA prep then yes. The advisor told me they do that with everyone to make sure they are on track because the application is rolling, so once everything is complete on there, they schedule you for an interview.

Not sure about the facebook group, if you come across one please let me know. Do they send another email with more details on the deposit and all the other stuff needed to start, or am I supposed to reach back out to them?

I believe it was an overall counter, and you didn't have to worry about the time too much because you will make up time with all the problems that take less than a second to answer. Think it took be about 2 hrs for the whole test so I had plenty of time left over. The sections were Reading Comp, Vocab and Knowledge, Grammar, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Math.

Are you sure its not a Bachelor's of Arts or Science in Business Administration? I never heard of another, it's usually Arts or Science from any accredited 4year college. People just say Bachelors and leave out the Art or Science part as short hand but the diploma would say it. What does it say on the actual diploma?

HESI was not that bad. I basically used NurseHub online which was like 20 bucks for the month, and there are some quizlets online to look up that were spot on with the AP section (some of the questions were exact), biology was the toughest section only because I took it so long ago but again Nursehub was very helpful. The math was very basic lot of fractions and proportions with a handful of conversions like milligrams to grams sort of stuff or cups to gallons. Reading was not too bad again theres a quizlet online that was very helpful. English language was few spelling questions and a lot of parts of speech stuff. Lot of good Youtube stuff that goes deeper ....GL

I am applying, I have a 3.0 from my previous degree from 10 years ago but in the past year I have a 4.0 in all the prereqs plus a couple other classes that other programs wanted, so Im not sure how they will consider the 2 separate GPAs hoping I have a chance as well. I still have to take the HESI plan on doing really well to offset. I think its a long shot either way since the program is so small. I think they only accept 30people

Is anyone who was accepted willing to share why they may have stood out? I realize its very competitive but does that mean they only accept people with 4.0GPA. Anyone get accepted with less? Did anyone get admitted without personal statements (since they said it was optional)? Ill be reapplying for Summer session and would love some insight. Thanks

NJCU ABSN 2022
Yes I am applying. Along with few other schools. NJCU is my top choice since its close to home. Have you submitted everything? Im still trying to figure out what to write the personal statement on and have to take the HESI but have been reviewing. I am finishing up my stats prereq and then I will be submitting everything shortly after.

Does anyone have experience re-applying? I did not get in for Spring 2022, which I had a feeling was a long shot since I still had a class in progress. I would like to apply for Summer 2022 start, but it does not let me change existing application or start a new application in the Rutgers portal? I see there is a re-enrollment application but it says that is for previous Rutgers students, which I am not. Any insight??

I think I pieced together the whole Rutgers application debacle. Please correct me if I am wrong. If you are a current Rutgers student or have a Rutgers NetID your application is different and it has an area to upload additional documents including BLS and personal statement (can anyone confirm for future reference). I am not a current Rutgers student so as an outside student I got a community ID to apply and mine only had a spot to upload unofficial transcripts. Im not sure Rutgers realizes this cause they asked me if I uploaded the additional documents. BLS and personal statement had to be emailed to the snsadmission email you can find on the website, and even then, they don't always respond. They did respond to my BLS email and said document received and has been added to application. I did have success with a live chat this morning and they said I was missing a Stats grade that I previously sent them proof of enrollment to that same email, so it seems hit or miss with the email even though it is direct to the nursing program department. Not sure I have a chance since my STATS class is still in progress, has anyone heard of anyone being accepted with a class in progress? Anyway hope this helps main takeaway is to deal with the snsadmission email ?
