  1. Happy New Year, Nurses! I'm looking for thoughts on the age old shift work vs Monday-Friday gig while balancing family life. For context - I worked full-time shift work for the first five and a bit years of my career, and still do pick up PRN shifts at our hospital. Transitioned to the Monday-Friday life a couple years ago, and have never looked back. However, my current position will be ending this Spring, and I'll be actively looking for a new one. We're also looking to start a family in the next couple of years, so curious how you guys have found balancing young kids with different positions? My partner is not a shift worker. I feel like I'd honestly be okay going back to shift work or continuing the Mon-Friday grind. . . there really are different perks both ways! TIA.
  2. Hello All, Quick question. I'm a nurse educator currently working on a Master's degree with a thesis focusing on preventing and managing burnout among nurses. I'm quite interested in how mentorship programs can play a role in mitigating long-term burnout among nurses. How many of you have looked into new nurse mentorship programs? Are they being offered through your schools or employers? And if not, is this something you would consider paying for during your first couple of years in professional practice? TIA!
