Happy New Year, Nurses!
I'm looking for thoughts on the age old shift work vs Monday-Friday gig while balancing family life.
For context - I worked full-time shift work for the first five and a bit years of my career, and still do pick up PRN shifts at our hospital. Transitioned to the Monday-Friday life a couple years ago, and have never looked back. However, my current position will be ending this Spring, and I'll be actively looking for a new one. We're also looking to start a family in the next couple of years, so curious how you guys have found balancing young kids with different positions? My partner is not a shift worker.
I feel like I'd honestly be okay going back to shift work or continuing the Mon-Friday grind. . . there really are different perks both ways!
TIA.
