  1. Hi I am moving to Denver and I have been accepted in 2 residency programs. Saint Joseph IMC and PSL ICU. My initial goal was ICU, however I am getting a better vibe from Saint Joe and the pay is also better. Can anyone tell me more about these two hospitals and maybe units to ease my decision-making?thanks
  2. @veraszcz Summer 2021 I got accepted to another school but PSON is more affordable so I decided to give it a try.Wish I hadn't.
  3. I just got an e-mail from them that all the seats have been filled up and all the applications will be moved to the next cycle. They haven't even reviewed mine. Such a waste of time! I e-mailed PSON in May before submitting my application asking if I should submit my application so close to the deadline and they said they had plenty of seats open. So frustrated with this school! I have no words.
  4. I also received a letter saying it would be finalized by July 15th. Praying that we start hearing from them sooner. My deposit is due July 10th at another school but I don't want to go there. The last acceptances were sent out June 5th so maybe we start hearing something this Friday after all the deposits go through?
  5. surprise, surprise! I am also waiting to hear about the interview date. It's been a while! I'm starting to think it is some kind of scam LOL.
  6. wondering if anyone from waitlist hears something today, it's been a week
  7. @sigtime yeah I just saw that. Thanks
  8. @mely01 July 15th seems insane! Are you sure?I can't wait that long. I was hoping to get a response by July 1st at the very least...
  9. @queenslimmm thanks! I did send them e-mail one more time and the person that you mentioned got back to me. She also said I'll be interviewed but didn't give a date
  10. OMG CONGRATS! I hope it goes well. May I ask who did you e-mail? I applied a month ago and have tried e-mailing them for the past week or so, not getting any responses...
  11. @DinoRad23 congratulations! I'm glad someone got good news today. Thank you for the detailed summary of your stats.
  12. I think someone in the forum said they called and were told we could hear up until June 15th. And also someone rejected their spot recently. I definitely think there will be few more acceptances in the next two weeks.
  13. Hey everyone! I have just been accepted into the program for Fall 2020 cohort. I have a lot of questions that I am hoping to get from the admission counselors. Mostly I want to know if the clinicals are starting the very first semester, and also about financial aid. In addition what is the typical schedule looks like. I'm very excited to be moving from NYC to attend the program.
  14. The breakdown of cost is listed on NYU college of nursing website. No one will tell you 100% if it's beneficial or not, most of the nurses I know say it doesn't matter what school you go to, on the other hand a lot of people say it's very easy to find a job placement after graduating from NYU due to the high volume of hospitals they work with. If you believe in yourself I think you can do just fine by going to another school with lower cost.
  15. Hello! I just applied to the program. Can anyone please tell me how long on average it takes NursingCas to process an application?I received an e-mail saying it takes two weeks, and one of the other program I applied to has a deadline of May 15th, 2020. I'm a little worried now they won't process my applications quick enough.
  16. Updating my portal every 5 minutes LOL and it's still the same. I should probably find a distraction.
  17. his was 3.2 but I'm afraid it's more competitive this year. Hopefully I'm wrong. I already got rejected from Stony Brooke and Downstate.
  18. Nothing yet:( But my GPA is only 3.3 so I feel like if I get in then I'll be one of the last people accepted. They accept the strongest candidates first as far as I know. My friend with a relatively low GPA applied in December last year and got his acceptance end of May.
  19. so NYU waived the requirement for official transcripts and is accepting unofficial ones due to coronavirus, any chance Mount Sinai did the same?I'm broke and I can't pay for 3 official transcripts
  20. @Jacksterty95 it was e-mail. Mine also still says "screening in process' LOL. They have new system and don't always update it. On behalf of the Admissions Committee and the Dean of the College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University would like to thank you for applying to the Accelerated BS in Nursing program. After a comprehensive review of all of your credentials, the Committee regrets that it is unable to offer you admission to the class entering Summer. The Committee has made this decision after careful deliberation, and it is final. Decisions regarding admission are always difficult, even more so in health programs, where there is a high level of interest and many qualified applicants compete for a limited number of seats. Our Admissions Committee evaluates, comparatively, every applicant's prior academic performance, particularly in the sciences; successful completion of prerequisite course work; standardized test scores, (when required); communication skills; recommendations; and motivation for the chosen profession. In some instances, it is possible for a candidate to improve their competitive standing in subsequent admissions cycle by making suggested improvements to their academic record in either the overall, prerequisite or science courses. The college provides such general information on our web page or during open house and information sessions. You may consider taking advantage of such opportunities to learn ways for possibly improving your overall applications package. We appreciate your interest in SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and wish you the best in your future endeavors. Cordially, Dr. Shushawna DeOliveira Director of Student Admissions
  21. @Jacksterty95 Thank you so much for your response. Didn't think I would have to take another class but I guess I might as well try. I applied to Downstate in November and they rejected me at the end of March (got e-mail). They offered me admission to Master's in Public Health program though which is not exactly what I am aiming for LOL. If you haven't heard anything maybe they are still considering you! Good luck:) thanks I will!
  22. LOL. Downstate rejected me and offered the admission in Master of Public Health program. I wish there was a way to transfer to nursing somehow if I accept the offer. ?
  23. Hey guys!I got rejected from SUNY Downstate and still waiting for decision from NYU. I'm trying to apply to the program just in case since they extended the deadline but I'm a little confused with what they mean by "ethics" as I haven't heard of any other schools asking for it. Would Sociology, Philosophy or Moral Issues in Business satisfy the requirement? I e-mailed the admissions last week but yet to receive the response
