Fresno State (Fall 2020)
I read in the newspaper (LA Times) that nursing clinical labs would be exempt from the CSU closure. But, I have not heard anything specifically about Fresno State. I am wondering that too!

CSUCI Fall 2020
Hello future nurses as well. I woke up to the best e-mail of my life this morning. Accepted to Channel Islands. I was also accepted to Moorpark and Fresno State but am 99% sure I will be going here.

CSUCI Fall 2020
Hi All, I think interviews are over. How are people feeling about it? Seemed to go OK for me. Time really flew by. I did not know there would be four other candidates interviewed at the same time. I guess we will find out next week???!???

CSUCI Fall 2020
Hello all, For those invited to the interview, anyone have pointers on how to prepare for it? I am not very quick to think of things to say, typically don't have a good response formulated until the interview is over! It seems that doing some mock zoom interviews with friends is a good way to make use of the shelter in place time. Any other tips and advice are certainly welcome. This site seems to give a lot of good advice: https://interviewsteps.com/blogs/news/43574212-how-to-prepare-for-the-nursing-school-interview Hope that help and hope everyone is doing OK and staying clear of the Corona virus.

Congratulations to all! I got my e-mail for an interview too. Excited and nervous! Now the guessing game on interview questions...

CSUCI Fall 2020
I think they will have to switch to online interviews or drop them as the campus is now directed to go completely online for the remainder of the semester. They are not even allowing clubs to meet. I am taking all general ed classes this semester so do not have any labs. Feel sorry for those in labs. Wonder what the current nursing students are going to be able to do with their clinical rotations?

Fresno State (Fall 2020)
This may be a stupid question, but what site do you check? I occasionally check the status page on the NursingCAS page but it does not give much information other than the application has been received. Are you checking cal state apply?

CSUCI Fall 2020
Uhhggg, April? I hope we hear something about interviews before end of March
-
Moorpark Fall 2020
WOW!, CONGRATS. I think that means this year was more competitive than in the past.
-
Moorpark Fall 2020
I think that they randomly pick a few applicants and accept those. Maybe those who have been notified are the lottery winners?

Moorpark Fall 2020
@Guest123456789, hang in there. They may be waiting to form their alternate list until after March 16.
-
Moorpark Fall 2020
Congrats @kaylanurse I went in today to pick up my acceptance letter and a roadmap to complete before the semester starts in August. There are a couple of milestones coming up that may lead to more calls. March 16 is the last day to sign an intent to enroll. If someone misses that then they are dropped. March 30 is a new student tea and required. If someone misses that then they are dropped. There is a bunch of stuff that has to be performed by May 4 so that could be another time when spots open up. So hang in there!!

Moorpark Fall 2020
Hope you all get that call too. I should note that I was in class while they called but they left a message. SO even if you do not pick up, no worries, they will leave a message to call them back.

Moorpark Fall 2020
Hello, I am on the wait list for SDSU but I think that is extremely doubtful. CSUCI is my first choice but have heard nothing from them. I will either go to Moorpark or CSUCI as I can commute to those from home and therefore much more affordable. Moorpark is looking really good to me right now for a variety of personal and financial reasons. I won't give the full phone number but it was 805-378-XXXX and the caller ID said Moorpark College. I did not get an email.

Moorpark Fall 2020
I got a call today and was accepted! Have to go in tomorrow to get some papers and sign some things. Big sigh of relief.

Moorpark Fall 2020
I think last year acceptance notices or calls came out about March 12, that's next week!! No idea on how many points are needed to be accepted. I think last year some in the upper 70s made it in. It depends on the applicant pool which seems to get more competitive every year. Good luck everyone, we should not have too much more of a wait.

CSUCI Fall 2020
I've not heard anything. Last year they were sending acceptance letters on March 22. However, I am not sure when the application deadline was last year. I think it might have been mid-February but really not sure.

Fresno State (Fall 2020)
I applied to Fresno too. My Stats are 4.0GPA and 85.3 on the TEAS. Really not sure if I did the applications right. I know I missed uploading my unofficial transcript but Fresno e-mailed me and had me send it directly to them. I also applied to SDSU and CSU Channel Islands. I doubt I get into SDSU so hoping Fresno or Channel Islands works out. Good luck everyone.

CSUCI Fall 2020
Anyone hear anything about interviews or any other info?
-
Moorpark Fall 2020
Hi normanbrian123, My overall TEAS was 85.3 and I have a 4.0 in all classes. Yeah, we never know what the point cut off will be but nice to know what worked last year. I cannot imagine doing anything but nursing so hope this works. If not, I'll try to get a CNA and paid work experience, maybe try to improve my TEAS.

Moorpark Fall 2020
Thanks for starting this thread. I applied too. Have maybe 84.5 points or 82 points depending on if they accept my Spanish language proficiency. Very nervous about this.

Moorpark College ADN Fall 2020
I am going to take my application into Moorpark next week.

CSUCI Fall 2020
Starting a thread for those applying to CSUCI for the Fall 2020 cohort. Channel Islands is my first choice as I am a pre-nursing student there and I love the school. Very nervous about this as they will be doing interviews this time around plus we don't exactly know what their scoring criteria is. My Stats: TEAS 85.3% 4.0 GPA over 200 hours of volunteer time current CSUCI student Good luck to everyone who is applying. Let us know if you have any more information on their selection process.
