Howdy All, My wife and I are wanting to move up to Kansas after school so I am would appreciate a general idea of what RN's with a year of experince (ICU)are making in Wichita or Hutch. Thanks, Craig
Howdy All, Just wondering if anyone can tell me about either of these hospitals. Looking to move up there sometime this year, after June that is. I am interested in of course pay, management style, pt ratio, shifts, etc. Thanks, Craig
Howdy all, I have a co-worker who has finished an LVN program and needs to take her state boards. She is wondering if Kaplan had a review program for LVN's. A review of their (Kaplan's) website showed an RN review course but nothing for LVN. Th...
Recently a motorcyclist involved in a collision with a pedestrian. The motorcylists' blood alcohol................almost 600. And as usual, his victim was injured more severly than he was.
Hope I posted this in the right section. I am looking at going with an agency to pick up some PRN work (currently working FT and will cont. to do so.). I know squat about them and how they work other than the rate they pay tends to be higher than wh...

Something similar. Our hospital was getting upgrades, putting plasma TV monitors all over the place. One day construction men are all over the place and a group of guys come in dressed with hard hats, tool belts, etc... take the monitors down and s...

Our process is very similar to what was described above. Only bad thing is we end up holding a lot of pts, because of a lack of beds on the floors. Cam

I did a little over a year Med / surg before going to the ER. For me it was a good thing. Try and shadow in the ER you want to go to, see what it's like. Craig

For what it's worth I did a year med / surg before going over to the ER. For me it was a good decision. See if you can shadow in the ER for a shift or two if you haven't spent any time there. I love it. Craig
Thanks NrsMellisa1, I appreciate the info. We (my family) are about a year - a year and a half away from moving, but I will keep look into KHH as the time gets closer. Craig
Howdy All, Well I am making the big leap from cardiovascular med surg to the ED. I have 1 year exp as an RN and have thoroughly enjoyed nursing as a career change. The main reason for going to the ED is because I believe that it will make m...

No co-signing insulin for us. If I had a co-worker who wanted me to do it I would not have a problem doing that, but like I said it is not our institutions policy. If I ever have a question concerning a med dose I don't hesitate to track down one o...
