Not exactly. Plenty of people just last year got to this step (where King countersigned the contract) only to be dropped off the week of September 24th. When called, HRSA told them they “ran out of funding.”

Okay thanks for doing that. I’m still going to run with the “didn’t win yet or probably won’t” narrative even though I got a counter sign to lessen the blow of a potential fallout.

First of all, congrats to everyone who received signatures! Question... did anyone ever figure out why some people who received counter-signatures last year end up not receiving the scholarship? Was it due to lack of adequate funding? Again congrats ...

I wouldn’t say that. Like others have voiced, this whole application process seems washy washy, especially with their online UI. Some people have participant but no finalist status, and others such as myself are finalists with no participant status. ...

There were two verification forms I had to fill out after becoming a finalist.

Nothing here either. I did get a call a week ago to verify address for the reward letter.

@puisingra2013, I’d probably feel similarly if I were you. But at the same time, it’s probably a good sign :).

At this point, it’s causing me more anxiety to worry about all the what-if’s especially given that none of us actually know what the heck is going to happen. We’ll know in a month and change thats for sure.
