Hi everyone! I am also applying to the UBC 2021 Nursing Program. I have a B+ average in the last 30 credits of my undergraduate degree in psychology. I received an A- in the anatomy and physiology course. My previous work experience includes bei...
  2. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

Hello @Tanner Allen! When you deferred last year did you still book your mask fitting, criminal record check and immunization? I got an email saying I need to do these to secure my seat.
  3. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

Aw yes! I am torn between fitness training and nursing. However, I was thinking if I was an RN I could potentially work in fitness nursing as well, and possibly do personal training on the side? Very interested in neonatal nursing, ICU and psychiatry...

  6. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

Does any one know if working part-time is possible during program, even 8 hours a week? - let me know ?
  7. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

Hey @mb96 ! Sounds like working on the self is important before going into this intense program but it's exciting to start something new at the same time. I was initially rejected in May and was 57 on the waitlist; I thought for sure I would not get ...
  8. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

I just received admission today but UBC declined my application in May. Are you able to defer the program until September 2020?
  9. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

Hi everyone I just got notice I am number 5 on the reserve list; when did everyone have to confirm by? Thank you:)
  10. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

I feel like UBCs grading system is subjective. I thought that if you got 1’s across the board you get accepted but even if you have a 3 in an area you can be waitlisted.
  11. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

I am number 58 on the reserve list with a 2 across the board! So happy to even be on there:) will probably get in next year!
  12. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

The admission average a couple years ago was 80%, grades ranging from 70%-90%. So people with 70% can be accepted especially if they have a stellar supplemental!
  13. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

My GPA is a 3.6 so a (2) I have 3 years of paid Work Experience in healthcare, volunteering, and a Bachelors Degree so a (1) for supplemental. Casper- maybe a (2) or (3).
  14. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

Yes - no admission offers will be out until end of this week!
  15. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

Yes looks like within two weeks we will have our answers ? and then we can plan our lives from there!
  16. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

Last year I got my rejection letter from UBC nursing on May 7!
  17. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

I believe if one was rejected then they wouldn’t change that. Maybe they put up to 50 people on the wait list? What do you think ?
  18. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

Yes I was brainstorming what the perfect candidate would be! Who they choose also depends on who applies but here’s an example of how I think it works: If someone has a B average but then years of healthcare experience, they would be chosen over some...
  19. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

Wow you have a great application! You will definitely be up there in the candidates they choose ?
  20. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

The cut off is December 2018 for grades that would count towards your 2019 application.
  21. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

The cut off would be December 2018 for grades.
  22. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

No updates in extracurriculars really. I have a new job in counselling with adolescents and before that I was working in a clinic and gave out medications to patients so maybe those two experiences will help.
  23. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

My GPA was a 3.33/4.33 when I submitted my application last year.
  24. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

    It’s on a 4.33 scale so a high B+!
  25. UBC BSN September 2019 Applicants

They will not let you know why you didn’t get in. They mark your grades, supplemental, and Casper task from 1-4 1 being top 25%. I received a 3 in all.
