  1. Not sure I like this...long

You're not alone! I work evening shift on a neuro/brain injury floor of a free standing rehab hospital. The census is usually 27-30. If we have more than 4 nurses on our shift it's like a vacation. I have not been spoken to about staying late to char...
  2. Work Commitment for Thomas Jefferson FACT Program scholarship

Glad to be of help! I only worked 6 - 8 hrs/wk, but I had 2 little ones at home. I wouldn't recommend working more than 10 -15 hrs/wk. Certain times are busier than others, so having a flexible job is helpful. Good Luck!
  3. Work Commitment for Thomas Jefferson FACT Program scholarship

People started interviewing as early as Jan., everyone knew which units they were working on before graduation. I decided to work in rehab after graduation. I like spending weeks/months with the same patients and seeing them get better. I didn't k...
  4. Work Commitment for Thomas Jefferson FACT Program scholarship

I just graduated from FACT, but didn't get a scholarship - which I am now grateful about. Methodist is all telemetry,OR or ER. You interview for any available position. It does not have a good reputation, 99% leave after the 2 year commitment. My...
  5. OMG!!! Has anyone only gotten 75 questions?????

I also passed with 75. If you had a lot of teaching/priority questions I'm sure you passed. I had to wait just a few hours shy of 48 hours to find out through quick results. Don't stress, ending at 75 means you did an awesome job!
  6. 7/17 my big day

I'm also taking mine on 7/17. I'm concentrating on doing questions and more questions. Just have confidence that you have the knowledge, the tricky part is learning to apply it to NCLEX type questions. Wish us luck!

  9. CHOP vs. JEFF new grad Advice??

  10. Does PA have NCLEX quick results?

I've heard 48 hours - NOT counting weekends. That's why I scheduled on a Tuesday!
  11. Anyone out there with student loan issues?

I have over $120,000 in student loans. I just graduated from an accelerated BSN program in May. My repayment is more than my mortgage and I can't see anyway to pay it off faster than 30 years unless we hit the lottery. Nursing will pay less than m...
  12. Temp License between Grad and NCLEX?

NJ doesn't give any temporary license. You must pass your NCLEX to start working.
  13. Good source of delegation ?'s ???

  15. Medication Calculation Help

Hi, I need help! This question seems simple but I'm not grasping it. I know the answer is 120 ml/hr but I have no idea how to get to this. The question is : Medication order: titrated medication 15 units in 500 ml. Infuse at 0.06 U/min. How man...

Thanks for all your help, I understand how you get to the answer now. It's great seeing the different ways to come up with the right one. Wish me luck on my quiz!
  17. Where to live in Philly (jefferson)?

I'm starting at Jeff too in May and I'm taking the high speed line in from Jersey. If I wasn't married with kids I would live on or near campus. Much more convenient and it's only for a year. Think of all the extra sleep you'll be getting while th...
  18. Any other mid-life career changers here?

Hi! I'm 35 and beginning an accelerated BSN program in Philly in May. I've been an Optometrist for 10 years so I've had all the pre-reqs, even though it seems like I took them a million years ago. I am so unhappy with my current profession I start...
  19. No personal letters of rec...?

My school (TJU) considered me a "special case" and I was accepted with personal letters, even though it's not the norm. I have been out of school for 10 years and am a self-employed O.D. Who else could I ask?! Try to get through to someone in admi...
  20. I also applied to TJU and had a rough time getting all my application materials accounted for. I did the application online and had my letters sent directly to TJU. I had to request some transcripts to be re-sent because they apparently got lost in...

I'm going to call this week and make sure all my info is in. I needed to send 4 transcripts and my reference letters should have been received by now. I've heard it's VERY competitive. I'm taking it as a good sign that I don't have to take any cha...
