    NEW GRAD ONCOLOGY ORIENTATION

Hello all. I am a new nurse. This is week 5. Our orientation goes to 12 weeks, with additional if needed. I feel good somedays and some, not so good. I don't give good report, I missed a 5 pm piggy back antibiotic and also, I am struggling with myself getting frustrated. I AM NOT quitting. But I have a fear of being fired, LOL. I finally had a progress report from my manager yesterday, prob should have had one earlier. I did not ask for this. She did not critique me or anything. Asked questions she asked all new grads. This job is a "new grad" hire. I am rotating to night come Saturday for 5 weeks. I hear it's more patients. I am trying so hard to adapt but also will they say at the end that "I am not a fit'? Fear here. I am excelling at some stuff but struggling with others. It is week 5. Is this where people are being a brand new grad?? I am brand brand new. I did not cause patient harm, btw.

    RN doing rotations

Hello. I just ended week 4 of orientation yesterday, with 3 12 hour shifts. I have this week to go, Tues, Thurs and Fri. I then start on Sunday with nights. I then come back Monday and return on Thursday and then I am off until Monday. I have never worked nights EVER. I am in need of advice to gear up for next Sunday. I have no small children, am in good shape, meal prep, work out and love routine. The last 4 weeks I have modified and the 12 hour days are OK. It is tough when it is two in a row, but doable. PLEASE ANYONE, tips, do and do nots, etc.. GO!!

    PVT and end of exam

Aloha. I got to question 144 and after that, it shut off. One more to go I guess. I felt defeated. About ten minutes later, I get home and an email from board was there about me taking exam. So, I did the PVT and got good pop up. Being who I am, I have doubts. Tried it again at 4 and same deal. PLEASE HELP.

    JUST finished school

Hello all. YES, I just finished school this past Tuesday. I am going to take the NCLEX hopefully by End of February, does that sound like enough time?? Also, I have a job that I accepted. It is ROTATING days/night, 3 twelve hour shifts. It will be rotating every four weeks. I have NEVER worked nights in my life and am afraid of this. It is my only concern coming into a new journey, "as of right now", my only concern. Any tips, pointers, etc??? I don't want to pass this job up because of this. PLEASE HELP.

FUTURE RN WITH A JOB OFFER

Hi all. I am excited but afraid. I was just offered a job and it is a rotating shift. I've NEVER WORKED NIGHTS BEFORE. I still have one semester to go and the job is secured contingent on the NCLEX pass. I just want to know ahead of time how to prepare for this. I DO NOT want to turn this down just because of that. It will lead to better opening doors in the future. PLEASE, I need your help, input and thoughts.
