THE BOARD AND HOSPITAL

Nurses Career Support

Published

HI. I need feedback. I made my first year as a new nurse and applied someplace else before I quit. I got the job, so I had to leave where I was working because my mental health was terrible. So, I do not recall getting a background check here at my job I am leaving, but they must have, it's a hospital!!. Maybe when I was a nursing assistant. And I transferred internally. BUT, I got a license, and the BON cleared me. HR called me regarding my new job about my BCI AND FBI I did last Tuesday. She said they were mailing them the results, and it was going to be a bit, or it could be a bit to get it. She asked if I had "anything" that would merit this "sending it by mail." First off, don't they receive it by mail? And second, I am soooo nervous now because is there something there on my record?? They are letting me start April 18, and it is contingent(the job) with these results. If the BON did not see anything, why would a hospital?? PLEASE HELP. I am worried and shaken up. I don't want to lose out on a chance.

You, yourself, know if you did something...  Have you been arrested, investigated, associated with a crime?  If not, then you are fine.  If you did something as a youth and the record was expunged, I believe it stays hidden on reports if you did everything necessary to have the record cleared.
