  1. Yes. Too many mistakes my first year.
  2. No I am good!! The way the HR gal made it sound like she was coming at me. And saying they mailed the results. I was under the impression they are always mailed. To the board. To the school. To the VA. So I am just in a bad way . Down and out. I got fired. Fired from my first nursing job. I’m down ughhhhh
  3. Thank you for the reply : ) I thought the board is the messiah of background checks and would never allow if I had something. I could be worrying for nothing but this is my weakness. Thanks again.
  4. EVERYTHING. I got fingerprinted too. BCI and FBI. They also do preemplymnt check?
  5. HI. I need feedback. I made my first year as a new nurse and applied someplace else before I GOT FIRED. I got the job. So, I do not recall getting a background check here at the job I am leaving, but they must have, it's a hospital!! Maybe when I was a nursing assistant. And I transferred internally. BUT, I got a license, and the BON cleared me. HR called me regarding my new job about my BCI and FBI I did last Tuesday. She said they were mailing them the results, and it was going to be a bit, or it could be a bit to get it. I also put my start date earlier than original which was supposed to be May 16th, but is now April 18th. BCI and FBI was done only one week ago. She asked if I had "anything" that would merit this "sending it by mail." And said "they can see sealed records and expungement". I feel she was fishing. BUT I AM WORRIED TO DEATH. First off, don't they receive it by mail? And second, I am soooo nervous now because is there something there on my record?? They are letting me start April 18, and it is contingent(the job) with these results. If the BON did not see anything, why would a hospital?? PLEASE HELP. I am worried and shaken up. I don't want to lose out on a chance.
  6. HI. I need feedback. I made my first year as a new nurse and applied someplace else before I quit. I got the job, so I had to leave where I was working because my mental health was terrible. 7. Thank you Tweety. Tomorrow I go for the BCI and FBI and turn in all my immunizations and I have to do a drug test and urine test for nicotine. So far, nobody has called. I would have heard something. I plan on giving notice Aril 18 and starting new job May 16th. Is that good enough in advance? Thanks again!
  8. Well said. I appreciate the reply and advice and input. Thank you so much!!
  9. I was hoping you would respond. Been a bit since I have been on. Too busy trying to be fabulous. LOL. Well said, by the way. I am just worried when the interviewers call the floor and talk with my nurse manager, she will hinder me and voice my struggles. BUT YET, I am still working here. What do you think Davey???
  10. I need help! I am one year in. I love oncology. I changed careers from IT to nursing. I have struggled but redeem myself then struggle. I’ve had corrective action. I am on my final warning. This happened in January. So, I feel that nothing will change for me there regarding the environment and the coworkers opinions. I feel they look down on me. I applied for another job. Big risk. But a life without risk is like no life at all. Worried that my nurse manager will hinder me. I applied elsewhere and not where I am currently at. OK shoot!!

  12. Hello all. I am a new nurse. This is week 5. Our orientation goes to 12 weeks, with additional if needed. I feel good somedays and some, not so good. I don't give good report, I missed a 5 pm piggy back antibiotic and also, I am struggling with myself getting frustrated. I AM NOT quitting. But I have a fear of being fired, LOL. I finally had a progress report from my manager yesterday, prob should have had one earlier. I did not ask for this. She did not critique me or anything. Asked questions she asked all new grads. This job is a "new grad" hire. I am rotating to night come Saturday for 5 weeks. I hear it's more patients. I am trying so hard to adapt but also will they say at the end that "I am not a fit'? Fear here. I am excelling at some stuff but struggling with others. It is week 5. Is this where people are being a brand new grad?? I am brand brand new. I did not cause patient harm, btw.
  13. Hello. I just ended week 4 of orientation yesterday, with 3 12 hour shifts. I have this week to go, Tues, Thurs and Fri. I then start on Sunday with nights. I then come back Monday and return on Thursday and then I am off until Monday. I have never worked nights EVER. I am in need of advice to gear up for next Sunday. I have no small children, am in good shape, meal prep, work out and love routine. The last 4 weeks I have modified and the 12 hour days are OK. It is tough when it is two in a row, but doable. PLEASE ANYONE, tips, do and do nots, etc.. GO!!
  14. I PASSED! Laura RN
  15. Yes in 48 hours. This time tomorrow. SO I am patiently waiting...
