Regretting My Decision To Be An NP

Have you applied at a hospital or reputable facility? Ever consider moving for better opportunities? How about being a travel NP or RN? Sounds like you're in a bad geographic area with drama that's been going unchecked for a long time and no one want...

    Career over family?

I wouldn't have canceled my interview, I would have canceled my husband. He wants you to relocate for his purposes but bashes you for having an interview for your dream job at your dream facility? He's not husband material. He should have supported y...

Hey! That's my article on nurse's notes...

I'm curious. Were they actually selling a copy of your ring or was it a scam?

Tenet Hosp strike enters eighth week

You're arguing the wrong thing. My point is people can go to another hospital for care and boycott Tenet. You came and made it about Medicare. That's not the argument. Medicare is accepted everywhere. You're arguing something not the subject of what ...

What do you think about with current News and Opinions?

He did?! Lawd they're about to have a full meltdown while simultaneously never admitting defeat because their pride and ego won't allow it. I'm interested to see how far the GOP are willing to go. Their whole premise of acting like jackasses has been...

Tenet Hosp strike enters eighth week

Last time I checked, medicare and medicaid are accepted at just about all hospitals. I live in a country, damn near backwoods area, and there are people who drive longer than that because they don't like or trust the local hospital and the same for o...

Tenet Hosp strike enters eighth week

Or you can just drive yourself or family members. I get there aren't a lot of hospitals but it is possible to avoid them. People avoid bad hospitals all the time, especially ones they fear they'll die at for subpar care.

    Question about patient abandonment

Was the narc count off? So the patients didn't get their meds? I wouldn't be there anymore and I'd call the board. That new orientee could/would have been blamed if the narc count was off. You should also teach them not to accept the keys without cou...

    Medicare and Full Practice Authority

I don't have an answer for you but it would be interesting to see the outcome of these findings which were presented to Congress. http://www.medpac.gov/-blog-/the-commission-recommends-aprns-and-pas-bill-medicare-directly-/2019/02/15/improving-medica...

What do you think about with current News and Opinions?

Russia and China were already aligned. They were voting to protect each other during NATO meetings back when Obama and Bush were POTUS.

Continue as FNP or train in Cath lab?

You don't like being an NP? Don't let a bad experience push you away from it unless you truly have zero interest in being a provider anymore.

Continue as FNP or train in Cath lab?

OK. Texas does have an oversupply. Are you in a border city where you can maybe go work in another state? I'm just doing some free-thinking here trying to come up with a solution. I would say move but I won't be that person because I know moving isn'...

Continue as FNP or train in Cath lab?

Mind me asking where you live, as in what state? Not all markets are saturated but there are pockets in the country where it's definitely far too many NPs.

Continue as FNP or train in Cath lab?

OK. I stand corrected. I still personally wouldn't do it though.

Continue as FNP or train in Cath lab?

I think they're taking advantage of you. As others have said, renegotiate your contract or find a new FNP job. I wouldn't take the cath lab job because you'd still be legally liable as an FNP. Your highest education/skill will be the standard you're ...

You just proved my point and don't even know it. ?

What do you think about with current News and Opinions?

Because that's exactly what it is. Fox News has been radicalizing bigots for years. So glad the government finally said the silent part out loud about white supremacists being the biggest domestic terrorist threat.

    Shocked- I'm on CPS registry?!

I really think you need to speak to an attorney. Yes, they cost a lot of money but even if you just have a sit down for a free 15-30 minute intake and tell them your situation would be helpful. The investigators work for the BON and are not your frie...

Covid and Hospitals: How are things now?

The VA and military do their own reporting and aren't included in state numbers so that's not it. I'm thinking Spring break, beach folks, and graduation are why the numbers are jumping.

    Board disciplinary action on Lpn

Congrats on becoming an RN! However, what does your state's BON say about this? In some states, mine, for example, they want to know if you've ever had any licensure discipline, not just nursing. I guess it depends on the state. I'm curious...
  23. Good article. Machines and their noises are an unnecessary evil in the hospital sometimes. They alert us to emergencies and changes in status. Other times, they're just noise we can do without but as nurses we often tune out. I've been on b...

    Challenging Reality

It didn't feel good because I didn't want to be "that person" who exposed her. Sometimes it feels cliche' but in reality it's right vs wrong. We're in a profession where discrimination shouldn't be a factor. What if someone coded and had no IV access...
