Florida IPN saga continues
You are definitely right. I AM getting closer to retirement, and when I do I will write every senator or elected officials of each board regarding the scam of IPN. They ruin careers and humiliate nurses into submission. I will never forget after I had my eval elsewhere they IPN evaluator across from me saying " well I guess we will see if your telling the truth about this situation which I believe you are not" I was.just like really. So when I get back into this group it will be 2 years until I retire. I will be documenting this whole thread. I have started already( without names of course). I will be in touch with people if that is what they would like and get this IPN change in gear.

Florida IPN saga continues
So Florida never removes the mark? That is awful. You right about the co vites felon. This is why I believe I. Goi g to try and get some of this changed if possible. I'm still working for a few more years but this system needs some changes. I know it has helped many but is has also ruined many careers and it shouldn't have.

Florida IPN saga continues
It has been with certain company's. I went back to the hospital I worked at while it happened while the decided what my fate would be. My hospital did not like the way this all went down and took me back. I had no resitrictions. I cannot travel becuase of it. It is public and just states that you have the mark I am not sure everyone can see the reason for the mark

Florida IPN saga continues
Your right..the recruiter I worked with regarding travel said. If you have a mark they will bypass you if they are reputable becuase they can ..which is understandable. I just hope someday this all changes ...The job I have now is great and I make great money. I'll stay here till I retirein 5 years becuase I honestly don't want to go through the hassle...

Florida IPN saga continues
Unfortunately it has with a few hospitals and for travel nursing. On mine it doesn't State what happened its just the mark. My lawyer said just don't tell them..I'm like ya right I would not hire someone who wasn't honest. It is supposed to come off after 10 years or so I have read if unfounded which mine was. But I don't know that yet I'm at a 8 year mark. I am currently working at the hospital this all happened at . If nothing else after my fight they changed the policy at the hospital. If your injured which I was by a patient the first thing they used to do was drug test you. Now they do not. The whole mess is just that a mess..which is why I vow after I retire to try and change the system...I got the policy changed slightly at my hospital so it's a start. If you can fight it do it !!.but if you can't that's understandable. It's exhausting and expensive.

Florida IPN saga continues
Are you in sarasota?? I cld give ypu the name I used but was not really pleased with Becuase after it all I still have a mark on my license..FOR NOTHING. Do a search online , make some calls and speak with them first before deciding. Becuase my retainer was 3500 before they would do anything. I will see what I can find and will forward

ipn
Sounds like they are also in the pocket . Who are they but a platform to connect us????? IF they we like what he say....we have to find another avenue.

Florida IPN saga continues
Perfect and yes the more the better. I have a notebook full of things already but like I said must retire first....as I am Sure anyone who challenges them will be up for review and license revoked. My email is janetfox38agmail.com. please let's keep in touch and maybe do something good ?

ipn
This story is just unreal and a testament to the way an employer can get rid of you if they choose. I hope you keep fighting and keep your good un restricted license.. I hope they understand that this is another reason they have a nursing shortage.

Florida IPN saga continues
I wish that were true, but as we have all seen and read here they do nothing to help. They are along with the BON ruining a once prestigious career. 5 more years to retire and I will put my energy directed at them. I may not be able to change everything but to get this out to the people who are not nurses....it may shed light on their lying ,stealing ways

Florida IPN saga continues
4 years ago I wrote to DeSantis never heard anything. I think we ALL do this and keep doing it until the system is changed. I am about 7 years from retirement. I am making it my mission, after they can no longer mess with me , to get the frauds changed...maybe have them give nurses restitution for all the bogus charges and money we have spent...we can all hope anyway...becuase this fraudulent system HAS to go !

Florida IPN saga continues
Agreed but the money that it all costs is unbelievable. I know it bankrupted me. Finally paid my last 3000 to the BON. Another criminal in the whole mess. But I do agree ? we can't let them win

Another dilute urine for IPN
I agree ... will have to do some research. You would think that something like that would be in place . But I will be looking and letting everyone know what I find out.

Another dilute urine for IPN
You are NOT alone sad thing is if you give up then that's a win for them and a loose for nurses. It is BS and expensive but KEEP pushing on. When it's over and you still have your license share with other nurses your experience. I always do so the younger nurses know this can happen and happen fast. The system is flawed and needs repair. All of us who have gone through this will someday fight the whole darn thing and win to change it for future nurses. I know I sound crazy, but that's what it takes ....I'm up for the fight after I retire of course because the cra cra IPN and BON will tear me to pieces LOL. Keep you head up !!

Florida IPN saga continues
So happy for you !! I had to switch jobs in order to stay home for a year and care for my father who recently passed away away. I found out that the "mark" against my license did matter. I wanted to be a travel nurse and make some good money for a bit, but they would have nothing to do with me . Even though I have many skills. Again this whole part of my life came back to bite me. I went back to the hospital that is amazing before I left and helped me to deal with this whole IPN BS. They knew the story and took me back without any issue. I was lucky. So my advise is flight to NOT have that mark or you will be limited. Few more years to retire. I will be looking into everything legal and who would be the area of goverment to change this corrupt ,money driven system.of course that in itself may not be possible..stay strong and safe fellow nurses!!.

Florida IPN saga continues
So true. Someday!! I really want to see what can be done about all this. I will have to wait until I'm no longer a nurse. I have no doubt they would come after me. I'm a few years from retirement. I'm seriously going to research and push back. At that point why not maybe just maybe . I can make a small difference in this very flawed system.

Florida IPN saga continues
I went through this nightmare 4 years ago. My dream....when I'm a retired nurse... to try and lobby and fix this broken system somehow. How can a job that is so respected be reduced to these crazy people ruining your life. No other job is subjected to this. It's wrong and needs to be changed. Yes I know we deal with people's lives but what IPN and the BON make nurses go through is NOT a normal process. I'm thankful I hired a lawyer and fought them. $40,000 later and I still received a"mark " against my license. I was broke for many years but I was not going down for something I didn't do. In the end...they did win. I paid a ton of money and still have a mark against me. Thankfully it has not hindered my career. We HAVE to as nurses do something.

Need advice/ information positive drug screen
I was unable to work while waiting for IPN to contact me . I was out 5 months before it was all over. My story is very different. Wish you the best it is a long , difficult road for sure.

Florida IPN question
I was referred to IPN and received a crazy 5 year contract because I have been on Wellbutrin for 15 years. The hospital I work with stated that I would get Short term disability , as Other nurses have in the past. I was refused and have just received my appeal that was also refused. I am going back to work this week but have been off since may. I am unable to appeal again. They gave me the reason of not enough medical information. Even though a full psych and Dr assessment was made. I am out ALOT of money because as you know you have to pay out of pocket for all IPN. The company is liberty mutual which is through the hospital. I don't understand how the hospital who will actually be paying me the disability money says I will get it but the company I pay has refused. Hope for the best with your situation.

Unfair, unfair, unfair
So sorry that this has happened to you. Sadly it has happened thousands of us. When I said that I am going to lobby or do something I mean it. This cannot continue to go on the way it is. My experience has also been awful.
-
Unfair, unfair, unfair
I will also be working In the Florida area to do what I can for the unfairness and unrealistic expectations of this IPN program. In the next few years I pray that they will have other plans and ways to help nurses that need it . I also pray that they will no longer be able to impose their will on people who do NOT need IPN.

I worry about the policy on deluted urine..Everytime I have ever done a urine my creatine was messed up. I may need to get this looked at before I sign and find out why...I don not delute have no reason- I'm worried about a kidney issue

Help what is regulation of drug screen???
I'm so confused. Lawyer said nothing about the BON and having a contract with them. If I am turned over I want to know how much was it for someone to go through 5 years of IPN. I was told 20, 000 if not.more and they always find a reason to extend even if your compliant. I have yet to retain the lawyer. Or sign the contract. I have about 14 days for all this to be figures out and I do appreciate your advise. Nurse to nurse everyone who has been through this will be able yo guide me better than IPN and the lawyer. I trust neither. Thanks
