  1. I got notified of an interview yesterday around 5pm. I spoke with the graduate program coordinator and he said there were 48 interview slots this year for 9 spots (1 person who deferred last year is taking the 10th spot). So about 1 in 5 will get a spot which seems pretty average. This is the first year they're doing a short written test that he said should be done in about 5 minutes.
  2. No I accepted a spot in Case Western's program this Spring so I won't reapply. The interview was super laid back. Three rooms. One was a clinical scenario with the assistant director (that was very laid back), one was with the director where they ask normal interview type questions, and one with a current student and faculty that was basically getting to know you questions. They basically tell you during the interview process that everyone they interview is qualified and could be admitted to the program academically and experience wise, and that they really are looking for people that they are going to get along with, that will fit with the culture, and that they like as people. They said repeatedly, "Be yourself."
  3. I interviewed there this cycle and was waitlisted. This year they upped to the number to 12 positions. Seems like a fantastic program. I definitely would have accepted had I gotten a spot.
  4. Applied to 6. Interviews at 5 so far, waitiing to hear about the sixth. Waitlisted at three before getting accepted at one of my top choices before turning down two interviews.
  5. Just got offered an interview my email today, however I turned it down so hopefully that opens up a spot for someone else. Good luck all!
  6. Well everyone, I just got offered a spot, and I'm going to accept. I'll be joining you all in June!
  7. Applying here this year as well. I'm in the NW so this is by far my #1A choice in programs. I know my wife is ready to bribe the admission committee with our firstborn to get me in here so we don't have to uproot. I spoke with the program director and she said they look for the same thing every school does as far as ideal applicants; 4-5 years high acuity ICU experience, high science GPA, high nursing GPA, CCRN, ACLS, PALS, preceptoring, committees, rapid response, charge, aced interview, etc. Nothing special.
  8. Finally finished my application today (waiting very nervously for one last letter of rec). Really hoping I can get a chance to interview here. I know how great a program it is. I wonder if the DNP change will affect the number of applicants.
  9. Does anyone know if there has been any movement on the waitlist? Monkey Man did you get into that other program?
  10. Waitlisted. This is my third waitlist and I'm feeling pretty defeated. Do programs even tell people that interviewed "no?" It feels like everyone who interviews gets on the waitlist. Congrats to everyone that got in!
  11. I had my interview today. Felt like it went relatively well. Did not get an offer so I'm feeling pretty bummed. I was really hoping to get one today and quell that uneasy feeling in my stomach with all these wait lists I'm on. Congrats to those that already got in! Stoked for you guys!
  12. Congrats Delmel1! Wait list for me. Seeing how small the class size is it's feeling like the same thing as a no for me. Congrats again. Gonzaga seems like a special program.
  13. No Titrate mine said incomplete until today. The lady I spoke with on the phone said it is taking some time to connect everyones materials and update the website.
  14. I talked to them on Wednesday and they said they had an unusually large amount of apps in right before the deadline and that we all need to be patient while they sift through all of them.
  15. Also had my interview Tuesday. I think I did alright. Got a little nervous during the clinical scenario but it went fine. If they're true to their word we can find out tomorrow by emailing them. Good luck everyone! That was an impressive group of nurses there. Was pretty humbling to meet you all.
