Private LPN Schools In Maryland

Updated:   Published

I have decided at my mature age to attempt training as an LPN rather than to wait for a RN spot with a college. Does anyone know whether or not there are any private LPN schools in Maryland, preferably in Baltimore? I know of some colleges that offer the LPN program, but I wanted to research more options, if possible. Thanks

i actually interested in the LPN prog in PA pls could u give me a contact number to call the school for futher information?i tin its actually best to do the 12months rather than going thru that hell of pre -reqs and spending two yrs.:yeah:

The money is going to be at nursing homes but

we are lucky to have some hospitals that hire LPNs. Last I knew, Union Memorial, Harbor, Kernan and I think Northwest hire LPNs. Spring Grove over in Catonsville is a state psych hospital that hires LPNs and I believe most of the VA hospitals will also. I've also seen ads for a company over in Columbia that hires LPNs for telephonic nursing which might be a cool job especially while in RN school.

Sojouner Douglass College in Baltimore city has a new LPN program I just graduated in Nov 2008. I was only the third graduating class. After so many attemps at all the community colleges and not getting in, I got frustrated. A friend told me about their program I got in, graduated, and just took the NCLEX. Jus waitin to see if I passed.

Good Luck!!

Hello TB2100,

Thanks for the info...I would love to attend this school, but they don't have late evenings.

No, they don't have evening classes but the first 2 semesters you only go a couple days per week. I remember my first semester I went to class on Mondays & Tuesdays. Second semester I went Tuesdays and Thursdays. I don't know If that fits with your schedule.

Thanks for your help. It does not fit my schedule. I work days and I am unable to do anything in the morning. I will just have to be patient and do most general courses online and work my way on up. Hopefully I will get there before I turn 40. Thanks and Congrats to you!!

You will get in somewhere eventually. Just don't give up. I have been going at this for about 6.5 yrs.

Good Luck!! to you:up::up:

I did moved to pa for my LPN and I did it in 12 month. Alot of my class-mate use to drive every single day from MD-PA . the school name is LCCTC in lancaster ,pa. they offer eve class and day class no pre req or any thing. The best part financial aid can pay for you and they have scholership for single mom {$1000} each level and another one up to $950 per level for every one. They will help you with every thing like getting foodstamp, daycare, apartment , free help with your classes after school hours. You don't have to spend a cent in this school. they do have a websit www.lcctc.org the only thing they are very strict and firm. Nclex percentage 97% I graduated last year. good luck
