Cheers? Boos?
I am down for the testing. I wish it were before each shift rather than just weekly.
I think if a PCR test was required weekly for being unvaccinated there may be a lot more getting vaccinated to avoid that huge cotton swab. I am fully vaccinated as of February 2021 and I had a URI in late May. Since I spiked a 102F temp. I earned myself two swabs. First, doc performed the covid PCR-couldn’t advance through the first nostril, had me lay down for the second side attempt and eventually got it. Then the nurse came in with the flu swab…come on, could that assault not have been completed in one encounter? Both vaccinated for…both negative-although 50% of the time my flu vaccine fails so I’m getting a bit jumpy about coming on the 8th month and my PCP is unfortunately an antivaxxer in a scary way-will likely be finding a new PCP who isn’t pushing pine needle tea on the vaccinated….that’s a whole different story and please, do NOT drink the tea. The vaccines are safe.
My point is, I’d rather have just about anything than that PCR test ever again. My father had to have for surgery and thought the same-also fully vaccinated. That test, weekly, would drive me to quit if I didn’t have a vaccine alternative.

Agree. That would certainly be a good incentive to get the vaccine to avoid the swab.

Everyone is different... I've tested patients who were totally asymptomatic and came back positive (even rapid tests).
My dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year, had began chemo and radiation therapy in prep for his whipple procedure, and tested positive for COVID. Totally asymptomatic. Had no idea.
