Hi, I'm completing my BA in psychology and then applying to ABSN programs. I was wondering if there is a preference over where the prerequisites are taken. I have all but the science courses. Should I complete my BA and go to a community college or stay at my university for a bit longer to complete the prereqs there, even though it would be the more pricier option. Any help would be appreciated.

Can't speak for every program out there as some like ASU rank their applicants by how many credits they took at ASU. However, the school I am applying to is a pretty good school (top ten in the last US News report), and they dont care where their applicants took undergrad prereqs, only what GPA went with those prereqs. Save the money, and make your schedule easier by going the cc route.

Graduate with your B.A. and in the meantime apply for the local CC to finish your prerequisites. You'll need to save the money since ABSNs programs are more expensive. Narrow down the ABSN programs of your choice and look up their prerequisite and GPA requirements. Most programs don't care where your prerequisites were taken.
Wish you the best in your journey.

Our four year university didn't care if the pre-reqs were done at a cc as long as they were the course level required. I elected to go the cc route and took A&P I & II which were level 1000 courses, well, the four yr university I was looking at requires those courses to be level 2000 or higher. Our cc doesn't even offer level 2000 courses in A&P. I will end up having to take the higher level courses before I transfer. Oh. well!

As long as the school at which you take your prereqs is regionally accredited, it does not matter if you take them at a CC or a 4-year university.
Thank you everyone for all the advice. I changed my schedule around for next semester so I can finish my BA and then focus on the prereqs.
