I am going to post here as I go to keep myself motivated.
I found a school nearby that takes straighterline, portage, etc. for prerequisites and I can save a good amount of money going through de-MSN program.
Done:
(Statistics) Straighterline Business Statistics & Aleks Introduction to Statistics. Finished both in 12 days. The Aleks was basically a freebie and the school accepts the Business Stat course which allowed a more robust calculator.
Pending:
Chemistry I no lab, A&P I&II with lab, Microbiology with lab, Biochemistry, Abnormal Psychology, Developmental Psychology.
I’m going to start Chem now, any suggestions on order for the others is appreciated.

Hooah, we are strict keto. Generally under 20 total carbs a day. Almost 3 years now, lost 90 lbs. my wife lost 160lbs. Keto for life!

Thats amazing! 42 for me so far (I may be going to National Guard OCS next month). Not that I think it would work for everyone (genetics has more of a say than we give credit for) but I think this is my diet for life. Thankfully I can keep keto at 30g (big dude and do insanity everyday) so that helps.

You adapt with time. I can easily eat 50g carbs at 6’ 195lbs without coming out of ketosis. I jus prefer to stay lower. Sometimes we even go carnivore. Last time we did that I reached 175-178. I couldn’t maintain it though. CONGRATS on OCS. I wish I could return to service but it just about takes an act of Congress to undo a medical retirement.
Update:
Roughly 9 weeks in, and I expect at most 7 weeks to go.

So far I am projected to have finished all the nursing prerequisites through Straighterline within three 30 day sessions. My goal was to get these done fast before our latest addition arrives in July, so the aim was to score > 80% in every class, and I put extra effort into A&P. The largest cost so far is going to be laboratory kits. I've been able to use multiple discount coupons from straigtherline so save over $200 so far. Total investment < $1300 for nursing school prerequisites, and no impact on GPA if I decide to later on go to a brick and mortar university and take the prerequisites for medical school, with a distinct advantage of having read all this material beforehand.
I'm very pleased with straighterline so far. I highly recommend it. It does require determination, self discipline, and no social life to do these classes this fast.

last semester courses/grades:
chem lecture and lab: B
med terms: B but should have been an A ?
nutrition: A
Summer classes:
A&P 1 and lab ( retake)
Abnormal psycim hoping to get A’s in all classes to bring my GPA to 3.6
I’d put all my effort into A&P.
I don’t blame you for taking a break. I’m super crispy fried out right now from all this material; I’m hitting hard burnout. I plan on finishing A&P 2 in the next 3 days (hopefully) and then starting the psych classes maybe. I think I’ll do those before the labs. I am just so wore out emotionally. Too much too quick is not a good thing.
I’m between Alverno & Milwaukee School of Engineering DEMSN programas right now. I will likely apply to both. Herzing stopped accepting A&P from straighterline which makes no sense since it’s based on Seeley’s anatomy. So they are my school of last resort.
it’s still quite tempting to take the brick & mortar prerequisites for md and apply to medical college of Wisconsin.

I hear ya. Straighterline and coppersmith (psych courses) will only set me back ~$1250, and the 13 months or so of GI Bill I have left plus the housing payments should cover all my tuition for the BSN/MSN. Np will be either out of pocket or voc rehab, but likely out of pocket. So worth it.
