I don't think it would matter which you take first. The CCRN & GRE are two completely different exams. The only help that one would possible have for the other is to brush up on your test-taking skills.
I used Gasparis-Vonfrolio (sp?) audio tapes 10 years ago for my CCRN. I believe my GRE review book was Kaplan. It had practice exams on paper & on CD.
Good luck on both!
Gasparis Vonfrolio tapes definitely. GRE don't waste your time buying anything. When you register they will send you a CD, or you can just go online and print a packet of study materials. I found that the test was based like those questions that they sent. Just know how to do all the math problems from the packet and they have thousands of topics for essays. Just practice. Good luck!
ETS testing (the people who administer the GRE) runs a free preparation website at www.number2.com . A very good prep tool.
Good Luck,
Mike
I have to turn in my vote for the GRE. This exam or the MAT are required for admission to graduate school. Get the minimum requirements out of the way first, then move on to the other stuff that simply improve yuor application. I know countless people who have been accepted without their CCRN, and no one who hasn't taken the GRE.
Rememeber, it can take several months to get your ATT (authorization to test)to take these exams, so start several months sooner than what you have already planned.
i have to agree with pigtails. Not only can it take a few weeks to a couple of months to actually take the exam...but it takes up to 2 weeks just for the results to be sent to any school of your choosing! Not to mention...if you're unsatisfied with your score...you have time to take it again!

Is it advisable to do CCRN b4 GRE or vice-versa. What suggested materials can I use to prepare for GRE exams. Thanks for your help in advance.
