Premiere International College (PIC)

Published

Hello, has anyone attended or heard of Premier International College in Florida? If so, can you tell me your experience? I'm from California so I just want to make sure that this school is legitimate. It sounds similar to International College of Health Sciences. I called Premier and they said that it's a 2 year online ASN program, less than 2 years if pre-reqs are completed prior to admission. Clinicals are in-person at the end of each term; 10 days, 12 hours each shift.

Can you be more specific. There is no hybrid nursing program in california. So your last sentence confused me. Are you trying to say, we would need to take speech since PIC doesnt have speech in their program

Hello ,

Sorry I did not make it more specific ,  I also did not say there was a hybrid program in California. What I meant is other hybrid programs ( Nightingale college  and ICHS ) meet all requirements for CA . Speech needs to be taken somewhere else . Also for  anyone who has already taken anatomy and physiology , you have to take a competency test and pass with a 70% or higher to be credited for those classes .

Who did you call to see what requirements you need for your state?

@lvnash I don't think they're trying to hide that you may need additional classes, PIC just might not be aware of every single state's requirements. It sounds like you may be referring to the general requirements to obtain an associates degree? I know of plenty of people that have successfully endorsed their Florida RN license to California. They also provided me with the application and instructions to fill it out before I even applied to the program.

Hello,

I never said they are trying to hide information, once I talked to the board PIC confirmed CA requirements will not be met    . The point is if a school is marketing themselves to be a hybrid program , accepting out of state students and have federal student aid approval , it is their responsibility to have the knowledge of state requirement's and disclose the risks to potential students . Yes I too know many nurses from florida that have been endorsed , their schools met the required classes. It seems not everyone understands the difference from passing the NCLEX and actually being qualified to be licensed in your state . The reason I wrote on this post was not to debate but to inform. Below is info copied from CA BON

Hello everyone,

if you're a California applicant please do your research. Like everyone else any school that is online with no waitlist seems perfect . I have contacted the school multiple times to make sure their program will be compatible with CA requirements , each time I was told there are plenty of California students in the program .Earlier this week I spoke with the BON regarding Licensure by endorsement and was told to be endorsed California education requirements still apply.  I reached out to the school sent them all the proof and links. I had my meeting with the school and finally got a straight answer . The program is only set to meet Florida license requirements, any out of state student must complete their state requirements on their own. The school does not offer speech , which is a requirement for CA also potential students need to make sure the clinical hours meet requirements. Most hybrid programs that are available meet California requirements because they know the majority of their students live there . This can still be an opportunity for someone , please just make sure that you have everything you need to get your license where you live !

This is all great information. For myself all my prerequisites are completed in California so I have all the classes needed. I have quite a few friends who have completed programs and Florida didn't have any issues getting endorsed in California.

@Lavender Love Do you happen to know what would happen if someone doesn't pass a class? Would they have to repeat it or is there another opportunity to retest for the credit? I tried to email them today because I forgot to ask it during my one on one interview, but they wouldn't answer my question.

Can anyone tell me about Premiere International?... how are the pre reqs are they hard to pass?... I have to take college Math, and Anatomy so just wondering if the classes are really difficult?.... I have all my science classes done through straighterline and I know they don't take straighterline so I'm debating whether to go to another college in FLorida called International College of Health Science because they will take all my Straighterline classes. The downside is I would have to pay $1,000 a month if I go to ICHS since I didn't qualify for their loan and theres no Financial aid. So I need to make a decision before the next start date which is Jan 2024.

I just started with PIC this week and I think in terms of how difficult the classes are will be the same for both PIC and ICHS. I looked into both schools, and while it was a tough choice, (I really wanted to choose ICHS because of their online flexibility, the school was under investigation at the time so I didn't want to risk it, and they don't accept federal student loans), I ultimately chose PIC because they are accredited. From what I was told, there is help when you're not passing a class. They want their students to pass, it's how they stay accredited. Because both schools are hybrid programs be prepared for the communication to be very lacking, it seems that they are both highly disorganized. Mentally prepare yourself for a lot of frustration, and a lot of study time. Goodluck!

OK great thanks for the info... yes I'm leaning more towards ICHS only because I wouldn't have to do math, anatomy , micro since I completed all through straighterline.... But because I would have to pay $1,000 a month I would have to work more to cover the costs which means less time for studying so now I think I will just do Premier since I could get some federal loans ..... I'm just horrible at math though so I don't want to take out all these loans if I fail the math... but that's good to know that they are good at helping their students.. I don't mind being at a disorganized school I dealt with that at my lvn school. Thanks for all the info ! I appreciate it

You're welcome! ICHS is also $9k more than PIC. If you qualify for Pell grants, you may have a chance of getting your tuition covered, or at least some. Just something to think about!

I am HORRIBLE at math. I was legit crying in class most days LOL. But I passed with a B. If I can do it ANYONE can pass.  I'm really really really bad at math LOL . They offer tutoring for the math and you get credit for attending that helps your grade. Just do all your homework made sure you get 100% on all of them.  You can pass it !
