Hello to all. I was just wondering as a prospective NCLEX-RN tester which predictor mostly resembles success on the NCLEX.
I have taken so many different predictors and been trying everything to find out if I am ready to test. Basically I've done Kaplan, ATI, and Learningext.
The Qbanks on Kaplan I always score in the 60s and on the Diagnostic and Readiness tests i score 67 and 65 respectively. Also on trainers 1-5 i scored in the 50s while on trainer 6 i scored a 64.
ATI if anyone is not familiar with is another school based tool to assess readiness for NCLEX.
The ATI predictor I scored a 76% which as per ATI predicts I have a 96% chance of passing NCLEX-RN the first time.
I am also doing the Virtual ATI classroom assessments and thus far have passed all assessments over the benchmark of 60% for fundamentals, pharm, and med/surg.
Learningext i only took the pretest and scored 68%.
can anyone fill me in as compared to your scores on these same review tests whether my scores are low or high and ready to test. I would also like to ask someone for advice as in what to expect from the NCLEX-RN. Are the questions lengthy or brief. also, is nclex similar to Kaplan or Saunders, and which is hardest Kaplan or NCLEX.
I know I'm asking a lot but I am very anxious about NCLEX because there is no way to gauge readiness. There is so much information it's nearly impossible for a nursing student without experience to be expected to know all that information.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you all.

Relax and calm down your nerves. Keep your anxiety under control, I think you will do great from all the stuff you've mention above. Study your content and practice more question. Good Luck!
thanks to the two of you for the vote of confidence. hopefully i can get out of nclex abyss and breathe again.

As far as which predictor is best, I have no idea. The only thing I know is that I scored 76% on the ATI predictor which gave me a 96% chance of passing. Only predictor I took. I passed first time, at 75 questions.
that is the same score i received on ATI predictor but I've had a few issues with ATI and I dont know how much to trust them. Some of the answers are incorrectly correct. For example, I got a question wrong because ATI believes that lochia alba begins after about 26 weeks of delivery which is unbelievable. That's not even close to correct.
nascentRN I must say you have probably the best nclex news and report of anyone that I've ever asked that has taken it. It's very helpful, and I feel some people never want to share nclex info and help others to pass. Anything you can say as far as which style of questioning nclex is similar too? If you've ever answered saunders, prentice hall (Hogan), Kaplan, and ATI questions which would you say mostly resembles NCLEX in terms of difficulty and answer choices. Meaning, does nclex have incomplete questions and answers like kaplan, are there always two obvious incorrect answers, are the questions lengthy?
any other help you can give would be great cuz my test date is just around the river bend.

I'm not sure what you mean by incomplete questions and answers. Most of the practice questions I studied were pretty long. Most of the questions I got on the exam surprisingly were VERY short. Not all, but most. As far as there always being two incorrect answers, I don't know about that. There were at least a few questions that I couldn't eliminate any of them very easily. Yikes! But, that may have been reflective of my lack of a grasp on some of the content. One thing that the ATI has got going for it is lots of these "Nurse knows client needs further teaching (or client understands teaching) when client says A, B, C, or D or nurse would question which order, a, b, c, d. Those kinds of questions were all but ubiquitous on on the Nclex and I recognized the format from the ATI. I'll give the ATI that. I've heard others disagree, but the ATI predictor, IMO, captures the basic gist of the exam pretty well in terms of question format, the length of questions, a focus on safety, and the randomness of the questions if not the specific content. Aside from the fact that it isn't a CAT, the ATI does have the "feeling" of the Nclex. Which probably explains why I HATED the ATI. lol.
