Pre-TEAS assessment vs. actual TEAS test

For those of you who have taken the TEAS assessments and then the actual TEAS tests, how did your scores compare? A friend told me that your score from the online practice test really gives you an idea of how you'll do on the actual test. For her, the scores were really close.

Do you find that to be true?

I will be taking the TEAS V, but I suppose it would apply to any of the tests.

thanks!!

I took TEAS V and did both online practice tests.

My score on the actual test was about 5 points higher than what I made on the practice tests on the first time. I say this because the second time I took those tests I remembered many of the questions so that was no help.

The practice tests do give you a great idea of how the test will be... especially the math! I'm so glad I took the online tests because the math sections were great. The science was kind of random, though. Just go over the book and focus on what you don't know.

I actually scored about 2 points higher on the actual test....I think the question types are very similar to what the real test was:up:

Are ya'll referring to the ATI online practice tests? I heard you can only take each one once, so I'm waiting to take them. I take my TEAS test this Saturday. Very nervous!

:) Where do you find the practice tests for TEAS?

Thanks!!

@ssmith116...you can take each of the online practice tests once, but the book has 2 in the back as well that are helpful...I liked the online one because it really helps put you in the mindset of taking the actual exam since ours was computer-based. I'm sure you'll do fine!

@lvnibclc...the online practice assessments can be found on ATI's website (ATI Testing - Home

). You have to pay for them, but it was definitely worth the extra money, for me. I would rather spend a little extra now than have to spend more time and money in the long run if I had to re-take it. ;)

Actually, for the version V at least, I was able to take each online practice test twice. The questions didn't change, though.

Hello everyone,

I am new to this site, and this is my first post. I am working on getting into a nursing school. I been out of school 20yr..... Wow, that the first time i said that.I went in to take the teas test and..... Well i BOMB on the test. So, I am going to buy the book and the practice test. My question is to anyone that has retaking the test and has gotten the ati book and practice test. How much of a just in your score did you see?

I don't know if it is just your typing but you have a lot of gramatical errors in your post. The easiest way to improve your score is having a commanding level of understanding of English. Not only is English a section by itself, a more proficient understanding will assist you in other areas of the test as well. I recommend concentrating on English grammer websites to get 100% in that area. Aside from that: algebra word problems, be able to do them.

I only got mid to high 70's on the practice test and I actually got an 84.7 on the real thing. I found the practice tests to be harder, but that is just my opinion. I think a big part of it is that you are going to try the hardest possible on the real thing and I think the adrenaline kicks in to make absolute sure you answers are what you want. I felt like I probably slacked a little more on the practice because it wasn't the real thing.

My scores were very similar. I actually scored a little higher on the online assessment because I think I was a bit more relaxed (being at home, etc) as opposed to be in a computer lab :)

I definitely recommend taking the online practice tests. The TEAS is quite a mixture of questions - some that I did not anticipate. The online practice test gave me the opportunity to brush up on some other areas that I had not considered before taking the REAL TEAS.

Good luck!!
