You still need to complete your RN courses before taking the board exam.

what???????? lol

Lol, the person must have said the rest of the sentence in their head and didn't write it. No, you can't skip all of the nursing course work.

you have only just begun your journey to signing RN after your name... the next step... going through the RN program... then the school submits your paperwork from the school after you graduate and board has to approve you passed a RN program and then they issue you a ATT then you can set a date with pearsonvue to sit for boards..

good luck on yor journey to be a RN .. keep us posted on your future schooling

I apologize for not making the question clear, as I am very new to nursing and the medical field. So I have to go to a separate RN program before taking the exam?

yes you have to apply to a RN program. they will have requirements you will need to enter the program... i am not sure what state you are in and what programs are available in your area. i am sure if you mention your area you will get some help.

anyway contact schools in your area that offer a RN program.. see what they want for you to be accepted. RN programs are very competitive and sometimes you have to wait to get in. sometimes people don't get accepted at all... never give up hope...

if you have any questions feel free to ask... no apologies needed.. i am happy to help:nurse:

I am not sure where you are on CA, but you can check the state board for registered nursing site here http://www.rn.ca.gov/index.shtml. On the home page there is a tab for schools that list all the ones in CA with approved programs and has links to thier websites and phone numbers so you can get in touch to find out what's next like the other poster mentioned. You can also look at thier NCLEX pass rates to see how thier graduates are doing. Good luck! :D

Hi there! I'm guessing you have a different degree that covers the pre-reqs needed for the RN program? I'm not sure what state you are in, but typically you will need to apply to the Nursing program and once you are accepted, complete the courses and clinicals (and pass of course), then you will be able to take the NCLEX-RN exam.

If you have a school in mind, you should contact them for the specific requirements needed before you apply. You may need to take a pre-entrance exam and get your CNA, etc.

Hope that helps?? Good luck and welcome!!
