Pre-Requisite Nursing Course with LAB?

Published

Hi ?

I have a BA in Fashion Design, but I want to do my Masters in Nursing, MSN. I have some experience working as a First Responder and in hospitals as Nursing Assistant. I want to know if anyone here can help me, please. I would like to ask:

  1. If you know where can I get my Pre-Requisite Course (with LAB) done, preferably online (not expensive) or at a Community College.
  2. If you know any good University that offers the MSN to someone with a non-nursing degree, please.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your help.

All The Best to everyone,

Chris ?

I did all of my prerequisites at my local community college. Where are you located? That might help with suggestions on where to do the prerequisites if you did want to do them in person.

Grand Canyon University has a concurrent enrollment with my local community college for the ADN-MSN program. The ADN is all in-person at the community college and all of the MSN work is only online through Grand Canyon. It does require that you have a prior bachelor's degree in another area. I know of at least one other online program to obtain a MSN if you get a ADN degree and have a non-nursing bachelor's and that is through Northern Arizona University. I am sure there are many. But I've only looked at programs in my area which I am familiar with already.

Dear araew2129,
Thank you very much for your reply. I really appreciate.
Im in TN. I'm looking at my local community colleges in order for me to do my Pre Req courses.
I looked into AMSN but they are expensive, and I'm thinking in doing my ABSN (15/18 motnhs) then work for a year and then do my MSN-DNP/or Phd.

Many thanks again.

Please make sure whatever program you're trying to get into will take the transfer credits -- no class with lab is going to be 100% online.

Dear SamC1988,
Thank you very much for your reply. I really appreciate.
Do I have to send my BA degree to the college I'll be applying for them to check about the transfer credits? how does it work?

I'm going to do some Pre Req 'on campus' like the ones that require lab, and some online also.

Many thanks again. ?

Ive contacted Edukan and they said that I needed to 'belong' to one of their consortium of community colleges. How did you do in order to do your Pre Req at Edukan? please.

Many thanks again.

ChirsT ?

I am still enrolled in Micro and A&PII. I will be finish in 4 weeks. I chose Barton for my school because of the reviews and the staff are great. Also, they offer payment plan for the tuition.

If you are in TN search for Tennessee Board of Regents for a list of community colleges or TnEcampus.... Columbia State, Nashville State... all of these schools will offer Micro (Biol 2230) A&P1 and 2 (Biol 2010, 2020) on campus or online either through their own programs or tnecampus.

New Mexico Junior College offers A&P I and II and Micro online - very good classes and very cheap.

Have you taken these courses online and successfully got in nursing school?

You betchya.

Specializes in Telemetry.

I took the online CHEM with Lab through Clovis CC in Mew Mexico. LP was my professor, I highly recommend him. Most of the other students in my class were RN-BSN students in Ohio. I took it to fulfill the ODU RN-BSN requirement, it was transferred in without any issues.
