hi,
i am looking for info on the pre reqs needed for the lpn course. i plan to do as many online as possible this coming spring since it is too late for me to do them now. i can't fully start my lpn right now due to us moving before i would be able to finish the course. also, does anyone know what it takes (cert wise) to work in l&d and possible nicu/peds?
thanks

The pre-reqs are different for every school I think. At my school I had to have intro to Anatomy & Physiology, general psychology and human growth & development... I think that was it. But like I said they are different for every school so you should really talk to your counselors at your school.
I don't know about the NICU/L&D or Peds.

At my school its A&P, Microcomputer applications, intro to health, medical terminology, and I think there are a couple more. Check with yoir school.

Every school is different, but I had to take Microcomputers, Writing, Basic College Mathematics, A&P I, and Psychology.

i had no pre-reqs for my lpn schooling. you did have to be a high school graduate or have a ged and pass their english and math entrance exam. other than that, no classes were pre-reqs.
working in l&d and nicu/peds as an lpn is very near impossible in most states. most states have rn's (and a lot of hospitals in my area prefer bsn's) staffing those departments.

Our only Pre-reqs were CNA and Medical Terminology.
