NCLEX
Oh I see! Thank you all kindly :)

NCLEX
I just had some questions about the NCLEX, I haven't started nursing school yet so I'm curious. Is the highest score 100? I know you have to make 75 to pass.. Also, does your score mean anything? Or is it just, you passed, you passed and get your license kind of thing and no one ever sees your score? thanks!

hidden cameras in patient's rooms allowed?
I don't really know about the HIPPA rules yet or whatever, but I do remember recently seeing on the news a story about a girl who tried to suffocate her baby in L&D after giving birth. I think the baby was hooked up to some kind of monitoring and the nurse would come in there b/c the alarm kept going off. Well they had a camera in her room and looked at it shortly after that kept happening and saw her trying to suffocate the baby. They even aired the video from the room on the news...

Realistic expectations of a nursing career
I am starting the nursing program on the 29th. I am a single mom of two both under 3 years old. I am curious what people have to say about this too. I expect it to be hard (what worthwhile is easy anyways right?)

feeling discouraged :(
Nothing worthwhile is easy! There will always be some obstacle to overcome and time-lines never work out how you planned, at least in my experience. What makes a difference is persistence and perseverance. Like the other poster said you could always retest and reapply, and maybe you could do some serious thinking about what you want to do and look into other options if you think nursing might not be for you, you might find something else that strikes you! Good luck I hope it turns out well either way

Pre Reqs For LPN??
The pre-reqs are different for every school I think. At my school I had to have intro to Anatomy & Physiology, general psychology and human growth & development... I think that was it. But like I said they are different for every school so you should really talk to your counselors at your school. I don't know about the NICU/L&D or Peds.

Student Uniforms - What are yours like?
Ours are red cherokee workwear with our school badge on the sleeve and maybe another badge on the front...not sure I haven't seen them yet but this is what I was told lol How expensive are yours? Our year budget they gave us at orientation said ours were going to be like $170, and they told us it is 3 pairs of scrubs. I am not sure if they are including the scrubs we buy ourselves to wear to class in that too or if that is just for the uniforms. Seems expensive to me for 3 pairs of cherokee workwear plain red scrubs..

Got a JOB
that is great!! congrats!! if you don't mind me asking, what type of facility is it?
-
"You are an angel!"
I agree with this, times in the past before I was interested in nursing, I never really paid attention to the fact that they were helping me in these ways...I guess I kind of thought well that is their job to administer me medicine, draw blood etc, but they don't have to fix my pillow or be genuinely concerned about how many blankets I have and if I am comfortable... Now that I am going to be a nurse I think a patients comfort is important to their health too but I can see how important the other aspects of nursing are as well. I would just be glad they said thank you for anything especially because I meet many rude people with no manners at all that don't say thank you for anything and expect everything

what is the top rate of pay for an RN in the states?
wow, a studio apt for $400 a month? Wish things were that cheap here, but I guess it's all relative
