I personally wouldn't take both A&P and Chem (which I assume both have lab components to them) together while working a full time job. Heck I doubt I'd attempt those two together without a full time job.
Just check your school, and see if A&P requires Chem as a pre-req for A&P. I know all the schools I was looking into required you to have taken (and passed with at least a C) Chem in order to take A&P.
I would say because GPA is so important in getting into so many of the nursing programs that you may want to consider taking these classes separately and concentrating on getting a good grade. Of course it CAN be done, but your grades may suffer. Just my 2 cents.
Good luck with whatever you decide!
I took A&P 1 & microbiology at the same time while working full time. I think you can totally do it, you just need make priorities- dont expect your social life to be the same & still get A's- just make time to study & you'll be fine..
i did the same thing, micro + A&P + full time job & it was probably the hardest semester i've ever had, but i was glad to get them both out of the way. it can be done, it just takes A LOT of dedication & maybe a little bit of flexibility on your employer's part.
Hi,
Like others said if you really want it and you are a good student, go for it. If not in the interest of your gpa I'd space them out. Definitely meet with the director of your nursing program to see if you can talk your way out of having to re-take those classes. Everything in academia is negotiable so it doesn't hurt to ask. My A&P 1 was over 20 years old but I got them to allow me to take A&P2, got an A, and 5 schools have been willing to accept my old A&P1. Good luck!

Hey Guys
I have to retake my pre-req science classes since its been over five years since I took them. I was wondering if its too much to take A&P and Chemistry at the same time + Full time job?
thanks
