Hello, I was wondering if anyone that didn't do so great on the online practice test (teas) did a lot better on the real thing?

What version of the TEAS is required for Charity? I would like to buy the practice tests online and there is a 3.0/4.0 or a V; which one is the correct one for Charity? -Thanks

The nursing department is gonna see your score regardless of what you do, buddy. The practice test helps the nursing department to see if it really helped you for the actual exam. There's no way around it.The great thing about practice tests are that they don't count toward a grade, hence the word, "practice."

Do you really think they have access to those practice tests/or even look at them? I wonder...my friend did really well on a practice test for the TEAS V, but got nervous for the actual test and didn't do as well.

Hi UCFSN,
Do you think you can elaborate more on what was in the reading section? Did it have logical conclusion, inference, and text structure questions?
Thanks!

Seriously, they have access to a product that we paid for? What if you apply to multiple schools? I see a huge problem here on ATI's part. Scary... especially since I bombed TEAS test and pre-test urghhh...

i was referring to the scores....
not the actual test material. I couldn't see why they would need to see the actual test material. Just the test results to see what your strengths and weaknesses are.

Hello, I'm interested in attending nursing school. I chose to become an RN so now I have to take the teas exam to enter into the bridge program. Can someone email or pm me some of the science questions?

For those who don't want to pay for the practice tests, here are some topics that were covered on the practice exam and I suppose they could appear on the real test. I have not taken the actual TEAS test yet.
Science
Know the following:
Taxonomy in order: Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species (memorize this order).
How to balance a chemical equation
When a polar covalent, non polar covalent or ionic bond forms
Endothermic vs exothermic changes of state
oxidation vs reduction
pH Log
RNA vs DNA
stages of mitosis and meiosis
prokaryotic vz eukaryotic cell functions (aerobic respiration, photosynthesis etc)
photoautotroph vs photoheterotroph vs chemoautotroph vs chemoheterotroph
basic chemical elements of the human body
actin, myosin
heart disease
English
Very similar to SAT type questions on spelling, grammar and sentence mechanics so just brush up on nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, singular vs plural verbs, past tense, past participle, and some vocabulary. The TEAS English section is much easier than the SAT English section just to let you know.
Math
Must know how to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions
Convert fractions to decimal; fractions to %; decimals to % and vice versa all.
Be able to read basic charts and graphs and estimate values from graphs.
Solving an equation for "X"
Convert miles to meters
Find a given % of a stated number
Find the original price of a discounted item
Determine the cheapest package out of several given options
Basic algebra and arithmetic. There was no geometry, trigonometry or anything harder on the practice test.
Reading
Much easier than the SAT Reading.
Find the main idea of a passage.
Make logical conclusions
Determine the purpose of the passage (to persuade, define, explain etc)
determine the structure of a paragraph (cause and effect, chronological sequence etc)
Interpret a diagram such as a map
Interpret a nutrition label
Determine the best nutritional supplement for patients with certain needs from a chart of several options
That is all I remember off the top of my head. Hope it helps a bit. If you did well on the SAT you should be ok for the TEAS English, Math and reading. The science on TEAS is different and for that you have to study anatomy and microbiology in addition to reg bio and chemistry.
