Overwhelmed and confused by education needs

Hello all,

I just recently decided to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. I live in NYC and have been researching schools here for the past few weeks but the more research I do, the more confused I get!

I am mostly confused about what to aim for. I see that some places offer an Associate's Degree at which point I assume (no clue though) that you could potentially work with that and then pursue becoming an RN which would then be 2 more years?

Then I see other schools only offering a BSN.

Which is better? Does it matter? I wish there was a guide somewhere about each path and what is needed for what. I feel very overwhelmed right now looking at all this conflicting info.

No. Both the associates degree in nursing and the bachelor of science in nursing will qualify you to take the boards to become an RN.

Look at the registered nurses: Diploma, ADN, or BSN forum under general -all allow you to take the same licensure exam, and there are pros and cons to each.
