Who else is taking Nutrition this semester?

A club might be helpful. I dont have any links to post, but I think the class gets pretty in depth. We have covered the first chapter and will start chapter 2 tomorrow. Class is going ok so far. I think in chapter 3 we will get into the deep stuff.

I dropped a class I found out I do not need and will added Nutrition!! How is the class going for everyone? I will start in a few weeks. :monkeydance:

By the way, does anyone see a need for a club? Does any one have any valuable sources to share? Thanks.:wink2:

Well it looks like this thread might become more of a support group. :wink2: Not bad. Here is a website I suspect we will all be familiar with by the end of our courses:

Thanks for posting that.

I'm taking nutrition this semester as well. I'm actually really looking forward to learning about what to eat/and what it does. because i'm diabetic and vegetarian i know a little bit about how food works. (not that thats stopped me from gaining a million pounds i need to shed.) I really hope that this class is indepth because it's something i think i will be able to use in the future.

I know the info you learn will be very helpful to you. Welcome to the club.

i'm taking nutrition along with micro this semester..

our first class was last nite..i was like 5 minutes late and walked in on the teacher talking and people had already started takin notes..

the teacher gets right down to business..she informed us that the class will be like all lecture..she doesn't hand out notes or assign readings..but she is lively and it does seem like it'll be an interesting class..

I think they all understand the first class. I cant believe she started the lecture 5 minutes into the class time. Did she not go over a syllubus or anything? I havent ever heard of doing things that way at any college I ever went to.

no, she didnt hand out any syllabus or anything..she even said we didn't really NEED the book...

luckily for me i had already bought it..god i love wasting money-$99.00 down the tubes (i only say that because i already have a nutrition textbook from a few years back).

I know the feeling of losing money on textbooks. I lost money reselling a new textbook this semester after dropping a class I do not need to take this one.

I found a deal for $70.00 on amazon.com for a new Nutrition textbook because another student added and dropped his/her class. Otherwise, I too would have been out of $99.00 because my instructor requires that we have the CD that comes with the book. All I have to say is that this CD better be able to unlock the mysteries of the human body because I could have gotten a used text without the CD for less. :wink2:

I hate that, i had to buy a new text because it came bundled with a nutriton program that we are going to be using for a class project. It was like $180 all together. My professer said she didn't care about the book, she just wanted us to have the computer program...So frustrating, i just wish they sold them separately at the bookstore.

Hey, everyone. I will start my class next week and I hear I will have a dietary project. Does anyone else have on in his/her class? How about case studies? I think this class will be interesting especially since it sounds like it is similar in focus to nursing school courses. :nurse:

As far as I know, we dont have anything like that. We have to know what a case study is, but that is review anyway. We just get a grade for class attendance and exams.
