Nursing School Entrance Tests

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello Everyone,

As you can see this is my first post and i have few questions.

I am a certified massage therapists and i LOVE it. Since my first day of massage school i have been so amazed by the human body and I want to go further with it.

i have my nursing program selected, i just have to take my prereq's - but i see that i have to be accepted and take an entrance exam. I'm nervous!

How hard is this test and will my myology and A&P course i have had through massage school be beneficial?

More or less what kinds of questions are on the entrance test and do they turn people away?

I'm sorry if my questions are silly but i have been nervous that i'm not be accepted =(

any advice, opinions, anything?

I appreciate it!

Pam

Welcome to the boards. What is the pre entrance exams name? Is is NLN, NET, TEAS?

If so, I invite you to do a search as there are many threads on these, also we can help you better :)

I have to take a nursing dosage calculation exam prior to entering the nursing program. I entered it in the search engine but wasn't able to find anything useful.

I do too, but not until the middle of my nursing 100. We have to pass with an 85% or get the boot :bluecry1: . Will try to get info about it though and post it.

Good luck

That would be great! I will also let you know if I find anything useful.

To the original poster, ask the school what entrance test they use. Then go to the library and find a study resource for the exam. Also ask how many times you can take it. Sometimes schools will allow you to take it twice prior to a certain cutoff date. If that's not an option, you can also look for the exam's manufacturer through a web search. Many companies will have a sample exam that you can purchase. This enables you to get familiar with the way the test is given.

For the posters concerning dosage calculations. You can search this web site and find many links to web pages that offer examples and practice questions.

I have searched this website twice, but I still haven't found anything helpful. Just book recommendations.

I did a search on the web and found this though.

To help you with some of your question about the Nursing Entrance Exam. Depending on which exam you are required to take, here is a link to review SEVERAL practice exams to give you a better idea of what you're going to face on the exam.
