MSMC ADN Fall 2010

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

did anyone here apply for mount st. mary's adn program and hope to get accepted for fall 2010?? :)

my boyfriend applied for the fall 2010 cohort. he hasn't heard anything yet but then again, the due date was only a couple weeks ago.

i applied to the program. i'm crossing my fingers. I dont know how hard it is to get into their program. Just got an email to take the TEAS so im preparing for that now!

i hope we get in! but i really hope i can get into the nursing program directly,.not pre-nursing cuz i'll be done with everything except the religious class.

I applied too! @future nicu nurse, I think that you will be eligible for the direct-to-nursing program like me b/c a lot of colleges don't have an equivalent class that meets their religious course requirements. If I remember correctly, you will take that class along with the nursing theory classes once you're accepted.

Anyway, I'm sooooooo anxious!!! I check my mailbox every day or check to see if the mailman came yet. I called the undergraduate admissions office and they said that letters will go out in June... Poooo... Almost there! But she didn't say early, mid or late June... So it could potentially be a whole 'nother month :banghead:

I've been waiting 3.5 years to get in going the community college route. I'd been hesitant to move up until my last rejections letters I got for Spring this year b/c my mom (who is an RN) has lupus and needs my help a lot. But, that was the last straw. I applied to a bunch of colleges down in the LA area b/c there aren't enough programs in Northern California.

I think our odds of getting into MSMC are really good. Not a whole lot of people are willing to pay that kind of tuition for an associates degree. On their website they state that they had 397 applicants and admitted 116, 70 for their pre-nursing option and about 40 for direct to nursing. Not great odds but better than community colleges. On my rejection letter for American River College here in Sacramento, it said they had 1300 applicants for Fall 2010 so they only admit maybe 30-40 students... HORRIBLE odds that you will get in.

I am crossing my fingers for all of us to get in!!! The wait is keeeeeling me!

I really hope im eligible and they take me!! my worry is..yea ill b done with everything except the religion class..but i mean like im taking some of the prereqs right now this semester..and the speech class in the summer (ive taken interpersonal communications before and got an A but MSMC wants speech specifically :/).but i'll be done PRIOR to starting the nursing program. but i hope they'll be okay with my in progress classes. i have all A's in all of em right now..but they dont know that :/ theyre not any of the science courses tho so im crossing my fingers. this year is my first time applying but after taking 2 years of prereqs, i really cant afford to be behind another semester especially because ill be done with everything. only 40 for direct option? arghs!! yea im super anxious too!! i really reeaaaaaaaallyyy wanna be accepted to this school. i wonder when they'll have interviews? i heard they werent gonna have any this time but that was just what someone else heard too.

Yeah, hopefully they will take you for the direct program if you finish before this semester starts. If they don't but they accepted you for pre-nursing option, hey, keep your head up and think positive. At least, you would be accepted and that's all that matters (well, at that point hehe)

When I asked the lady in admissions about interviews, she stated that if they want to interview you, they will contact you and they would either do it before or after your acceptance ??? Weird... I'll call tomorrow and clarify.

I wanted to know that especially since I live in Sacramento so it's not like I can hop in my car and be there lickity-split. I just wish we knew!

yea thats weird lol but hey someone on the other thread said that they've started doing interviews this week O.O i didnt get a call.

and thats true! i cant really do interviews this week either cuz its finals week for my school and i live an hour away but after this thursday, ill b done! hopefully we all get in :)

btw, when you look at your admission status, does it say AA.NUR/PRE? cuz i want direct nursing but it says pre....

Hmm I haven't received a call either but then again I just called the school and the lady in admissions said they conduct interviews on a case by case basis so to me, it sounds like of they are iffy or need more info from you before making a final decision on acceptance then they will interview you. It could be a bad thing or a good thing, ya know?

I can't log onto MSMC's website right now, it keeps timing out. Would I find that on their Web Advisor? I haven't checked it since they told me letters would go out in June so no sense in torturing myself further ;( Ill check back later and let you know!

hey guys, i think theyre doing interviews next week. mine is on wednesday

im gettin worried wahhh. hey vlove do u mind if u tell us ur overall gpa and science gpa and teas score? if u do, its ok.
