Is anyone else applying for the Miami Dade College Accelerated program starting Spring 2010? I've been reading posts on this sight for a while and thought it was only a matter of time until someone started a thread for those of us hoping to be accepted for January 2010, but I guess not so here it is. Good luck to everyone! Now, we wait....:)

Hey all:

I just started a thread like this on the Florida board! I submitted my app a few weeks ago, I was told they wouldn't be making any decisions until around Thanksgiving time ( crazy! .. but then again at MDC you can talk to 5 different people and get 5 different answers, so who knows...?) Could you send me a link to your thread? Yea one of the advisors told me end of October/Mid November. Hopefully it won't be Thanksgiving since we need time for orientation and all the other stuff were going to need to do before we begin. Anyways, good luck to you too!:typing

I also applied for the accelerated program. Hoping and praying. I read in another thread that there were fewer applications thus time. I don't want another rejection.

Hey Shen06,

One of the advisers told me that between 300-400 have applied for the accelerated program this time around, which isn't too bad considering they take around 50. (Please correct me if I'm wrong). Don't give up hope, we all have a chance, God willing we will make it in. Thanks for posting! :)

How many peeps applied for the fall accelerated nursing program for perspective? Also can everyone indicate their gpa... lets see what other info is useful....

is it true that the baptist or was it jackson program were reopened thus increasing the amount of admission slots for this semester? does anyone know what the cut-off for last spring was and yes we are ALL aware that last fall was a 3.8, but the advisor indicated spring is typically a lower cut off...

so basically, if anyone calls advisors, please can you ask them any of those questions- especially the cutoff for last spring, the application number for last spring and if there are going to be more admissions this spring!

Hey all,

I applied with a 3.6 gpa in my science classes ... I know I probably won't make it in with those grades, but I'd be kicking myself if I didn't apply & found out that the GPA cutoff was lower this time around. The advisors told me the same thing, that the GPA cutoff is typically lower during the Spring, so gonna keep the faith! Let's keep each other posted if we hear anything!

the cutoff is apparently a 3.8 again- thanks olofin- so anyone with below that, including myself, should give up hope for the spring. if anyone can please call the advisers and confirm that and perhaps I will too....

LOL, well, I guess that's $25 down the drain ... do you know if that was the cut-off for both Generic & Accelerated?
