Is it a wise choice to take these classes together?

I personally feel it depends on the time you have to dedicate yourself. I always kept my sciences apart so i could get A's in them but also since i worked. For me to take microbiology i needed to finish anatomy and physiology 1 and 2, so make sure you can even take them at the same time. Other than that its a lot of memorization and you need time. Good Luck!

I got both A and Ps out of the way before I took micro. All are intense classes, especially the A and P and I wouldn't take them together. Psychology could easily be done with any of them. It really DOES depend on the person though. If you love science, do well in it, and have a lot of time to devote to classes, you could take all of them together. It was best for me not to take A and P and micro together cause I had too much going on outside of school.

Sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread but how about A&P 2 with Chem 101?

I wouldn't take ANYTHING with chemistry except maybe a stress management course. lol Chemistry isn't my thing or perhaps it was the teacher I had. You couldn't understand anything the man said. I started out in general chem and sat there for two weeks understanding nothing. I ended up changing to an intro to chem course, in which I made an A. I could have taken that with A and P easily. If you only take A and P and chemistry it should be fine. I think the mistake a lot of students make is taking TOO many classes together rather than a just a couple of difficult classes. Even if you have 6 easy classes, there is still work to be done in all the classes. Only so many hours in a day.

I was able to register for both, A&P1 with Micro

Its intense & plan on doing NOTHING but studying and crying(or maybe that is just me) but it can be done BUT if you are trying to get the best GPA possible you may want to seperate your sciences but it can be done

I personally would not mix any other hard science class with an A&P class. I feel it's more important to get As than it is to rush and get all the sciences done in a hurry. I saw more than a few students in my A&P classes who were taking the same class for the 2nd or 3rd time. Don't bite off more than you can chew. You're not saving anything by having to drop anatomy or end up getting a "D" in it.

Why not do anatomy, psych, and some really easy elective? Make sure it's a cupcake class such as Intro to Basketweaving. It's not just about the hours you'll be in class but the hours each class demands outside the classroom. Anatomy will suck away ALL of your free time, so pair it with classes with little or no homework.

Don't do it! I'm serious - both deserve your full attention, and I promise you, to learn them as they should be learned, take them separately!

I'm actually taking those three as well (except my class is developmental psych and not general and my A&P is just Anatomy, Physio is seperate) as well as Statistics. There is nothing I can do about it because I have to stay a full time student and those are the only classes I have to choose from for my program and I have to finish my pre-reqs this last year. I can't switch them out with anything because the only class I could switch Micro out with is Chem which doesn't help me in the long run. I finished all my non-science courses so whether I like it or not that is what I'll be taking. I'm also on financial aid and I'm not allowed electives (they won't pay for classes that aren't for your program and unfortunately I don't have 2500 bucks laying around to pay for a class I don't really need).

My adviser recommends taking A&P and Micro together. Maybe that is just my school though since the same teacher teaches both classes. I am taking both and college algebra in the fall.

It's funny how different schools do things differently. My school requires chemistry before taking A&P1. And requires A&P2 before taking micro, lol. Anyway....I haven't taken micro yet, don't plan on it until nursing 3....but having gone through A&P, I wouldn't want to take it with micro. Good luck!

I took micro, physiology, and statistics all in the same semester and got A's in all of them. All I did for those 17 weeks was sleep, study, work, study, sleep. By the end of the semester I was pretty burnt out, but if you're motivated it's doable. I just had to keep my eye on the prize. That's what got me through.
