Anyone applied to a Diploma Program

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi, I am new here, but I have been reading a lot of the other posts for a while. I am just curious to see if anyone has applied to a diploma program? Most seem to have applied to CC's, or universities. Thanks for any responses.

hi,

my school is a diploma program. Its the hospitals nursing school, and when you graduate you get a diploma in nursing. Its 21 months long, and I start August 1st.

I graduated from a hospital-based Diploma program and am quite proud of it. Loved the clinical training that we got..............I still would recommend a Diploma program to anyone, unfortunately there are not too many left anymore. :o

I'm starting a diploma program this September. It's 33 months long and very clinically intensive. I feel very lucky to have been accepted, and I'm eager to get started! I'm told that the education and experience you get from most diploma programs is wonderful; it's too bad there aren't many left.

Have you applied to one, or are you considering one?

Specializes in new mother/baby nurse.

I am beginning a diploma program at a medical center in January. I too, have heard that the clinical instruction that you receive in a diploma program is wonderful. I will be attending a 2 night a week/ every other weekend program. I cant wait! I already have a BS in Helath education and sociology and have been the traditional university route. I'm ready for this new experience!

starting august, i'll be in year 3 (senior) of my 3-year diploma program. love it. you will definitely get a wealth of knowledge and it's clinically oriented as well. i'm sure you'll love it. good luck.

I am starting a hospital based Diploma program this Fall, but they're also teamed up with a local CC that lets you get your associates if you choose. :rotfl: Good Luck.

I have applied to the diploma program at Baptist Hospital. I am waiting on NET results (they take the test with paper and pencil instead of on the computer). I think I would enjoy the program. They are accepting 300 students!

How does one find about a nursing diploma plan in his/her state? I live in Michigan. Are you eligible to take the NXCLEX exam? Sorry if that is a silly question, but I'm vague about the diploma program. Thanks

Hi- Yes- you are eligible to take the NXCLEX after completing a diploma program. It is just one of the several routes that can be taken for an RN. I would contact hospitals in your area and just ask if they have a program.
