Who all is taking A&P 2 ? Is there going to be a club?

Studying with a doc means nothing....ironically I have to teach him

A&P2 is kicking his butt just as it is kicking mine. He is an older gentleman and struggles with English. He started arguing with me whether basophils secrete histamine or not the other day and I was RIGHT, they do :wink2:

Guess what, we had a question related to that subject. He always copies my notes, too. It's hilarious!

I bet he was pretty embarrassed.

We actually had a fun lab last night where we used stethoscopes to record heart rate and got to take each other's blood pressures--very fun--we also recorded change in blood pressure after exercise and while the victim was holding his/her hand in 5 degree water--though no one in the class lasted for the prescribed 3 minutes....it reallly hurt!

I had my first test and got an 86 which I was very happy with since I didn't study in my normal thorough way given my crazy life right now. I'll have to do better on the next three....

Hi All,

I would love to join the A & P II club. I hope someone out there feels the same as I do and can offer some advice. My teacher is a Doctor and has never taught before, we took our first exam last night. I studied for 3 days straight, read all 4 chapters at least twice, and felt very prepaired going in to the test. I along with all my classmates got the test in our hands and was stumped. I am having a hard time with the critical thinking process. I know the material but struggle with the multiple choice tests. My A&P I class was the same, I am typically an A student and easily finished A&P I with a C. I want to do better in A & P II, I'm just not certain how to study on this level, someone please help!!!!!!!!!!!

He said that I am a "smart lady"

Welcome to the club. I will say that I study a couple of hours at least every day. I am not sure you can take all that info in in just 3 days. It just goes so deep and there is so much info to try to retain and really understand. I would give it a couple of hours, or at least 1 every day instead of trying to cram for it.

Good luck. You can do it.

MAn we dont do any fun labs.. our labs are mainly lectures and the last 10 min we look at models.. my first lecture test was hard.. i think the highest grade in our class was like 79 .. i got a 74 :( his questions were tricky.. plus he put alot of clinical apps.. with the hormones which is kind of hard because many have the same symptoms.. but i aced my lab test!! I hope i do good in the cardiovascular.. the only thing im having a lil trouble is reading the ECG machine.. .. with the P .. QRS.. and T..

Well, look at it this way, you are getting deeper than most of us are. Try to get a study group up. I finally got into a good one. It really helped. Good luck.

If you know of a good one that has already started, try to get in with them. You have no idea how hard it is to find serious people. They will find every excuse in the book, or you will get there and it will be a social gathering. I had fits, but I finally found a good one.:D We all did good on our fist tests, but we are going to meet more often on the rest of them. We all want nothing less than A. :wink2:

....or they argue with you about your knowledge and just try to confuse you. I think I am better off by myself
