Pre-nursing Statistics HELP!!!

Is there any helpful websites out there for statistics? I haven't had math since Fall '02 and I'm extremely stressed out about this class. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you staretd it yet? The reason I ask is because you don't really utilize that many math skills. Its really just a lot of formula's and understanding when to use which one and what not.. I could help if you had a specific question but I also know you can search it on youtube and usually find a professor that will lecture and explain how to work out a problem :)

I do not have certain problem YET! The stuff we are doing right now is pretty much a review from high school and middle school so I have a handle on it right now but I have a feeling that will change!

Thanks for your reply iluvpatho

The math involved with statistics was very simple. Don't worry about that part. I was so freaked about that class because I am not good in math.. I waited all semester for the class to get impossible.. but it never did. All you have to do is memorize the formulas.. which build from one section to the next. It really isn't difficult.

Take statistics step by step and you can't go wrong. On my four major exams (4th being the final) I got a 100, 100, 98, 100, respectively.

It's a fun (sometimes a little time consuming) class. You'll do great!!!

I agree with mjmoon, it really isn't difficult at all. I actually enjoyed the class because it was relevant to real life...unlike Algebra. :p

As long as you know which formula to plug into the problem, you should do great.

Good luck!!

I am taking a statistics class and albeit it is a Statistics class for Social Sciences it is extremely easy. I don't think statistics utitlizes a lot of math but rather it is just memorizing the CONCEPTS of the various statistical methods.

So far, my professor has taught us central tendency, descriptive/inferential statistics, histograms, bar graphs, line graphs, the different types of scales (nominal, ordinal, ratio, interval), etc. The class is extremely easy and the exams are not cumulative. YEAH.

I never found a good source on the Internet. And I spent many hours searching because my statistics class was rubbish. Basically our homework and tests were not based on our textbook. I think my instructor was highly knowledgeable about statistics and just figured that she didn't need to read the book before making up the test questions. Most of what we were expected to do wasn't covered in the book. I spent ages searching the Internet for explanations of these concepts that weren't in the book. Each source that you find has a different explanation with different terms (or the terms mean different things.) It was so frustrating.

Anyway, chances are you'll have better luck than me and get in an easy class like everyone else here where you don't need any extra help. If you do end up with a crumby class that forces you to search the Internet, my advice is to become an alcoholic.

If you are struggling in chemistry. I highly recommend looking at the youtube videos made by the user: khanacademy

The guy seriously explains things in a way that is concise and NOT boring.

Each video is only 10 minutes long, the videos are a sharp constrast to

boring lectures
