I have no history of use of illegal drugs but could I fail it for having consumed alcohol a day prior to the drug screen? Just had couple draft beers and couple shots of vodka on a good sunday night. Didn't really think that I needed to worry about alcohol intake day prior to a drug screen since I don't use illegal drugs until I read the fine print that the facility that just gave me an offer is a drug slash alcohol free facility. Now I'm worried sick about blowing this opportunity.:cry: Any thoughts on this?

How many hours had elapsed from last ETOH to drug test?

about12 hours, also drank a good amount of water after realizing what I've done.

what testing method will they be using....and will they actually be testing fo ETOH?

It was a urine drug screen. I am not sure if they will be testing for ETOH, hopefully not, but from what I've been reading it's pretty common that ETOH is included in drug screens now.

from what I read I should be ok since it was not a heavy drinking and hopefully 12 hours is enough to flush it out.

btw I found the drug test form saying that it's a non-DOT urine drug collection. So according to this link alcohol is not included in the test and there is a separate non DOT alcohol test. I really hope this is the case.

Let's say that they test for alcohol would they assume immediately assume the worse that they would reconsider their offer just based on thinking that I may be an alcoholic?

I am having the same problem, but I smoked Hookah tobacco. It's not illegal, its just flavored tobacco that you smoke. I never do anything like this, but my husband and I just got our own place, and since he does it every now and then, I thought I would try it. I don't know when my drug screen is, I have to call on Monday to set it up. Do you think it tests for tobacco?

Well for the ETOH even if they did test your for it I don't think it would really matter unless you were drunk during the test. Drinking is not illegal they can't NOT hire you due to having drank the day before unless you were still drunk then or you had a DUI or something.

As for tobacco I do not know. I don't mean illegal stuff but how some things just show up. Ask the drug screen place. It's not illegal so you can't get in trouble for asking.

got a call from hr and everything turned out fine, just worried about nothing.

anyway now i need to figure out how to turn down the job offer since i got a much better offer today from a hospital medsurg floor:yeah:.

Benzo's are tested for. If you have a prescription then it is okay. You disclose and you provide proof of script if needed. Benzo's can take at least a week to clear your system if they are used often.
