pre-employment drug screen...too dilute?

I am freaking out. I had a pre-employment drug screen this afternoon at 2. This morning I made sure to drink a few glasses of water but stopped a couple hours before my appointment time and held my urine so I'd be able to give a sample. The sample I gave was very pale yellow. The nurse collecting said, "You must have drank a lot of water..." I responded with, "and held it for a while." She then said "Well, you did good. Most people come in here unable to go and claimed they didn't know they had to take a drug test."

After leaving, I started thinking about her comment and being the worrier I am started to do online research. I had assumed that if my sample was too diluted, I'd get a call back, but after looking online, some people claimed that employers considered a dilute sample positive. I hope I can retest if it's too diluted. I have nothing to hide and would gladly test again today. Does anyone have any advice about this? Would the nurse have said something to me if she thought it was to dilute? I am so worried. This is my dream job and don't want it to be screwed up because I drank too much water earlier that day.

Chill. Believe me pee is pee and if there are drugs in there they will find them and if not then don't worry. Drug screens do not go by color I promise so relax.

By the way, your pic, is that an Iggy? I have three of my own.

Do you do drugs?

Then calm the hell down.

Someone saying, "Well you did good" is not generally a cause for alarm, but I'm a giant worrier too, so I can understand your reaction. When we read it objectively in other people, it looks and sounds very different. You'll be fine. :)

Aw come on. That was their very first post so they had to be scared to come on and ask.

However your response is funny.

I just do not see the point in freaking out this bad over something they read on the Internet. Yeah if you were doing pills like they were pez snorting coke blazing a bowl every 2 hours then I can see why they would freak.

I appreciate all the responses, and it does help to get objective opinions. I think may be worrying unnecessarily. This job is just so important to me.

Well there is some sight hound in him/her somewhere. I love those eyes and long nose. And thank you. My IGs are the loves of my life, lot less worry than my human child and grandson. LOL

I heard that if your urine is too dilute, they will automaticly enroll you in a drug rehab. Be careful of guys in all white showing up to get you at your house Sanitarium style. (Picture the orderly from Harvey)

I actually would have done the same thing as the OP... I have

the HARDEST time giving drug samples. If I think that someone

is listening outside of a door and waiting for me to pee, I just

can't do it. Shy bladder.

I had a lab girl SCREAMING at me once because it was taking

too long for me to pee. :uhoh21:

Happened to me and freaked me out! Got a call-back...questioned veeery suspiciously about why I drank so much water before the test (...??because I had to pee for them??) Went back after walking around to let my pee concentrate (!) and all was fine!So silly...
