I have officially received denial from my nursing program. I have never felt more crushed than I do right now. My friends have their spring nursing schedules all planned out, and are currently ordering books while I'm searching other schools to apply to.... I was so close to getting in, I can't believe that this is happening.... I have one more chance to get into my current school's nursing program, for fall semester. After that my school is not accepting students for an entire year (no one knows why). I am not allowed to retake any pre-nursing courses so my GPA is permanent (and accounts for 50% of the acceptance factors). I can however retake the pre-nursing exam (which accounts for the other 50%). I am aiming for a 95% on this test. I take it in a month. So, I'm just asking everybody to pray that I do well, and maybe offer some encouragement. I want this so bad :cry:

You should be proud of yourself that you are going to give the test another try! most people would have just given up!! I think you should study more and stay focused. I promise you that everything happens for a reason. I had to failed one class during my first semester of nursing school. I cried and felt like crap for like a month. I got myself together and I am currently looking for other nursing schools. I am going to test into another school coming up in the next few weeks. It was just a little bump in the road. I know your going to be fine. And there are so many schools out there. YOU WILL BE A NURSE one day even if it is not at this school. Always remember that my friend. Although you were denied once, that doesn't meant you eventually will not get in. You have to make sure you study A LOT for this pre-nursing exam. The more confident you feel going into the exam the better you will probably end up doing. Don't feel discouraged about getting denied though because with that mind set you will set yourself up for a disaster.

Just study hard for this exam. You will do fine and don't worry- If you want something bad enough, you will not give up no matter how long it takes. What's another year anyway? It will fly by.

I know exactly how your'e feeling. I was denied admission twice by 2 different nursing schools. I met ALL of the criteria and then some. I had a 3.8 GPA,volunteer experience, ACED all the admission tests, and great essays. I had to wait a year before being accepted into a BSN program. Please don't let this get the best of you,like I did. God has a bigger plan for you. Don't compare yourself to your friends ,I know of several people who were accepted and sad to say didn't even last a semester because of their egotistical attitudes or change of heart. Currently, I will be graduating this June, awesome grades(never got a C), and great scholarships. So pick your chin up and stick your chest out. :DYou need to use this time to reevaluate your plans, obtain healthcare experience, and possibly research other NS, which may be a BETTER choice. I can truly say these experiences is exactly why I work so hard in school. In the long run, you will be ACCEPTED and become a NURSE. :nurse:

Hang in there this too shall pass and before you know it you'll be flying through clinicals. You're in my prayers! You can do this and when a door shuts a window opens...chin up! :)

Don't give up, keep trying. I know what you are going through, I am going through the same situation. I am trying to think positive and pray I get in for the Fall 2012 class. It sucks I can't reapply till March. Keep the faith you are not alone.

You CAN and WILL do it! Have faith! Study your butt off for the upcoming test. Maybe this was meant to happen. Maybe next semester will be better for you than this semester. Keep your chin up, work hard, and make it happen! Save money and study. Look at other schools if you think there is another good fit for you. I know it sucks, all my friends got into nursing right away while I was stuck doing pr-reqs forever because I have younger kids and they don't. It sucks but I know MY time will come and I'll work my a$$ to get there! Good luck!!!!!!!!

Hun I am definetly praying for you!! I hope all works out, and I know it will because you seem to be so determined to reach your goals! This will be a minor setback for you, but hold strong hun...sometimes we are tested in life! :hug:

Good luck. Perseverance is key. Be confident in yourself. If others can get in so can you. Just stay focused on your goal and don't give up! Worse that happens is you may not get in the program in the fall and you'd have to wait another year..... you'd be surprised how fast a year goes by. I applied for the Spring2012 semester and didn't get in because it filled up so quickly so they asked if I wanted to push my application to the Fall2012 semester and I said sure although I was very discouraged at the thought of waiting another 10 months... But the next month I got an acceptance letter and its only another 8 months to go. I can work full time and save money in the mean time.
